why is it that guys can have sex with 1000 different girls and it's fine, but as soon as a girl has a couple of different sexual partners, they are sluts..

i get called a slut, when i don't think it is fair.
my boyfriend matt has slept with like 50 different girls.
and me, i started having sex when i was like 15 i am now 17 and i have slept with 7 different guys, 3 or which were not my boyfriend.
and i get called a slut.
how is that fair??????

Sadly, there tends to be a doubble standard when it comes to gender. But, more than the numbers involved, is the type of encounter it is. Typically, if sex occurs in a longer term, committed relationship most open minded people are more likely to accept that behavior, regardless of the gender or number. However, if the relationships are short lived, or basically sexual in nature, there's a greater tendency to degrade the people who engage in them. And, I say "people" b/c althought there's more acceptance of guys having numerous, short term sexual contacts, the type of relationship is more revealing to more evolved people, so it depends on the values of the audience, not just the gender of the participants.

Yeah, its one of those stupid ways in the world, theyre just so damn sexist.
It's all based on the known 'fact' that guys are more irresponsible than girls, so those things are decided in relation to if you are a boy or girl.
I personally don't know how to deal with it, but just know that what people are saying are just meningless untruths.

Actually I find it kind of slutish if a guy has sex with sooooooo many girls.
Having only slept with 7 guys does not make you a slut, seriously if a girl has sex with like nearly every guy in school then that would be considered a slut.

There is a gender-based double standard. In order to answer the question of whether or not we are classified as a slut, you have to define what a slut is. The obvious and easy definition is having numerous short-lived sexual engagements. However, the key is how many sexual engagements.
People also tend to judge one based off of the number of sexual engagements, not how long they each lasted. For example, if you had a boyfriend for 3 years and had sex 10 times in those 3 years, then to most people, that seems reasonable. However, if it's having 5 boyfriends, each lasting 1 week or less and having sex with each of them twice in that week, then people tend to frown on that. People automatically tend to frown when it's a higher number of sexual engagements, presumably because their line of thinking goes towards having numerous short-lived relationships.
So, is it fair for this gender-based double standard to occur? No. Is it fair for the audience to automatically assume the second situation? No.

My guess is that if a guy sleeps with loads of women then he is considered "cool" cos he can "get all the ladies." Personally, i think its retarded. I dont think you're a slut, especially only 7 partners. A girl in my school has had like 30 different sexual partners and only like 5 of em were her boyfriends keeping in mind that she is only 14. Lol, thats a slut. You're not a slut, just enjoying what life has to offer :)

It all has to do with harmones. A man is excpeted to have a higher level of sexual want, men want sex all the time if they can get it. A woman in cultural mind is suppose to be dantiy and soft, not wanting sex as much. This is why it is considerd cool for a man to have alot of sex, and a woman to be sluty for having alot of sex.

Yeah I agree with the whole double standards, and sadly its probably not going to change any time sooon.
People can be close minded and judgmental, therefore I tend to avoid talking numbers.
Besides the fact it really isnt anyone elses business.
Sex can be different things to different people. Some people might look at it as a loving and binding act for two people in a committed relationship, whereas some might see it as a fun pleasurable act to be shared with others (safely). They're opinions, who is to decide whether one is right and one is wrong whether theyre male or female?
How to deal? Dont judge, and hopefully this lack of judgment gets passed on :-)

No, they're stereotypes, not hormones.

i dont think that seven guys at seventeen is a slut.. its a sexist world.. coming from a guy, even i notice.. at my school no guys are ever downed for having sex with 40 diff girls they bragg and get compliments for it.. but if a girl does it she is immediately labeled.
