I don't support gay marriage, partly because of my religious denomination, but, God says we have to love everybody, and so I have no problem with being friends with a gay / lesbian person. As long as they aren't gay to the extent that they change their gender personality.

Jocklin please don't double post.
If this turns into a debate, feel free to move to ROTW.
As for my opinion, I have no problem with any homosexual people. I don't like it when some people who really are in the wrong gendered body go through signifigant lengths to get attention...refering to someone at my school. I feel that it is not my business nor should it be anyone elses business so no one should care because they arent bothering me

I think it's just a natural thing, and has been on this planet for thousands of years (proof goes back to the Egyptians (i think) ). It's just someone's person beliefs and choice though.

It's perfectly fine because i had no control over my sexuality although i will agree i hate when people go the extra mile to be feminine gay men. I hate when people throw their sexuality in my face.

what do you think of homosexuality and bisexuality?
I think thats a very offensive question. Would you post a similar question asking people to comment or air their racial biases, I certainly hope not. One of the great things here on vt is the almost complete lack of homophobia and the way that this frees people to talk openly and honestly about life, their experiences and their worries.
I hope it stays that way.

Well I dont want to offend anyone, I dont think I could answer that with out quoting a similar question that would be equally offensive to a different set of people. I'm not prepared to do that.
It strikes me as a homophobic question and as such as find it offensive.

I voted I don't care, because I honestly don't give a shit. My true honest answer is leaning more towards I dislike it, however I don't let my own personal opinion get in the way of other people, which is why I voted I don't care. I really don't care what other people do, as long as I don't see it. And no, that isn't being biased because I hate heterosexual public displays of affection as well. Public displays of affection whether hetero or homosexual just piss me off.

In my opinion its your life, your choice. if you want to be homosexual then no one should judge you.
One of my good friends recently came out, we had our suspicions however we were never sure but when he did come out to us we accepted it and he is still a great mate.

I don't care for it. But I do think gays/lesbians/bisexuals should be allowed to have affection/sex with whoever they want. Some people just need to accept love isn't just about a straight man and woman.
I think it's stupid that in some places gay/lesbian marriages are still banned.

I vote I don't care. If people are homo or bisexual, then so be it. If they want to get married, I'm fine with that, providing of course, they don't attempt to pick me up. I have a slight issue with bisexuality, and that is the fact that it's become a fashion trend nowadays mostly for girls to claim they're bisexual. The problem with this is that it pisses upon true bisexuals, not the ones who do the "I kissed a girl and have a boyfriend, so I'm bisexual, ritttte???" sort of nonsense. I see less people claiming to be homosexual for similar reasons.
That being said, if they are truly bisexual and homosexual, then let them do as they please, as long as I'm not dragged into or hit upon.
For the fake bisexuals, I tend to not care and let them prance around. If they bring their nonsense to me, such as telling me they're bisexual when I have very high suspicions that they aren't and/or see right through them, only then will I make it known.

Overly effeminate gays annoy me. I'm gay myself, and I think it's completely normal. For the longest time, I didn't want to be gay. I went to great lengths to prove to others who speculated about my sexuality before I hit puberty (I dated 2 different girls, kissed one of them) but there's really nothing I can do about it. I've learned to accept it. If it wasn't right for people to be gay, they wouldn't be. It's definitely not a personal decision, because if it was, I'd be straight.

The bluearmy as a whole fights against the gay. The gay and the ideas they carry with them will eventually lead the western world into a bellowing, discusting ceespool of lustfull desires and sick, attroshis minds.
The western world will collaps, and I be damned If I go down without fighting.
However, the bluearmy is not they type of people that exersize the world "faggot" or "queer" We may be right-winged hawk lobbyists, but we are not red-faced radicals, we must show civility to the enemy, I am willing to give them that! They are people.
Sorry for the double post.
but that's absolute BULLLLLLLLLLLL.
You and your bluearmy are full of bull. Sorry.
We're not your enemy. We're all human, firstly. Secondly, we aren't parasites. We're not going to MAKE you gay. Homosexuality is something you are born with, it is not swine flu.
The western world won't "collaps" as you so eloquently put it, because nothing is going to happen. Gays will be gays, and straights will be straights.
But if I was to meet one of your 'bluearmy' homies, and they treated me like the enemy, I'd treat them exactly the same. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
I may be gay, but I'm definitely strong. I won't go down with a fight either ;)

I believe homosexuality is something that you are born with, and cannot change (unless it's pubescent curiosity, which is a totally different thing).
Homosexuals deserve the same rights as other people. We live in a supposedly secular nation (USA that is), and religion should play no part in government.
Your orientation shouldn't make you any more or less of a person.
That's just my opinion. I'm straight, by the way.

1.) Don't acuse me of hating gay people just for being gay, just because I don't agree with them.
2.) It is mainly religous
3.) I will admit it is natrual when they can reproduce. That is another one of the big ones per say.

Okay, I respect your opinion but here's something to think about.
If being gay was the majority orientation and being straight was the minority and you were gay (which would be the majority) then would you be saying the same thing about straight people? And how exactly would you feel if someone said that being straight is going to destroy the planet?
Think on that.
Now as to my answer the the original question I have no problem with it and I support equal rights among LGBT's. There are people too and just have different tastes. Just because they like different things doesn't make them less of a person. They are people just like you.

Well I suppose I am fine with homosexuality, if your born that way (which a good majority of gay people are). I understand it can be genetic and that's just kind of how it works. It's things like sex changes that I don't really agree with, God made you one way for a reason. I don't think there should be any less rights for gay people, and I do think the prejudiced that's going around now a days isn't right. They're still people, however I am against gay marriage, and I'm sure I'm going to get a lot of shit for saying it but this thread asks how I feel so I'm going to say it, I just think marriage should be in between a man and a women, because in just about every religion, Christianity, Judaism, Hindu, Muslim, whatever, marriage is a religious affair, and I think it should be kept in between a man and woman like it always has. Because I think that is how God intended it.
Just for those of you that think I don't know my facts, I can tell you in ancient Greece, homosexuality was common and even popular, and society was fine with it. As long as it stopped when there was marriage, in between a man and woman. So I'm not against being gay, but I don't think marriage should occur if you are.

I am strongly against it.It is natural.
It has been around for as long as humans have walked this earth. A possible point of interest is that Alexander the Great was a gay man. How can homosexuality be the thing that will cause the collapse of the Western World if a gay man was able to conquer and rule a huge empire?
Gay behaviour in animals is also well documented. If homosexuality were so unnatural then it wouldn't be observable in animals.
Also how can you view a loving and respectful gay relationship as doing less good than an abusive and hate-fuelled heterosexual relationship?
I fail see why people have a problem with homosexuality. I may be a heterosexual myself, but I find homosexuality to be a choice and to dexcriminate against it is clearly wrong.
Are you seriously saying that people choose to be discriminated against? That they choose to be osticised by their friends and family?
If it were a choice then all these messed up attempts to cure people of their homosexuality would succeed 100% of the time.

I don't see a problem with it. At the end of the day, it's nobody else's business. Like most people naturally prefer strawberry skittles, some like the lemon or lime even if they're the least popular.
I think people are far too judgemental these days of things that don't affect them and have nothing at all to do with them.

I don't see why people have a *problem* with it.
If you're not gay, does it matter to you?
Does it REALLY matter if people "choose" -- as some of you so rudely put it -- to be gay if it's no effect towards your life and who you choose to eventaully be with?
No it does not. Just because i'm gay or anyone else is doesn't mean that it effects YOU.
You can think whatever the fuck you want about people, but the thing that's wrong is that others try to push their agenda and belifes on a group because they're a minority.
Sexuality is as much a choise as hair colour is. You can hide it, you can cover it up, but whatever you are won't go away.

Yay for civil disagreaments! Do you have any reason why you dislike crossdressing or transgendered [note: NOT the same thing... at all] or is it just something that you think is a little too strange?
Personally, i'm all for being EXACTLY who you are. If you want to be the other gender, then that's your life. Nothing in my mind is gonna say that's wrong or 'immoral' or ANYTHING else. You are who you are, nothing can change that

i love that line, good little analogy.
being gay isn't a choice, being straight isn't a choice, it's just the way people are. i support homosexuality (maybe im biased coz im gay) but its not like the entire gay community is one great group of friends ... theres some gay people i dont like and get along with the same as straight ... orientation doesnt rule society, it doesnt define people, its just a part of all of us and influences other aspects.

I think everyone should just except that if people are going to be themselves and part of that life is them being gay or bi then so be it, people make it more of a big deal then what it really is if you dont like gay people or the idea of it then ignore it and leave it alone your not forced to like everything in life and neither would a gay person.

Being gay/bisexual is completely natural in the animal kingdom. I'm assuming you all heard about they gay penguins in...New Zeland, I think? Either that or Madagascar. I can't remember, but apparently the males were like, trying to mate and have offspring. Of course it didn't work, but when people gave them an egg, they raised it completely like a male and a female would. It was actually really adorable.
