!!!parents wit my long hair!!!

my friends parents think im a punk sometimes cause of long hair but i ask my mom to grow my bangs out down to my chin but she said no because when i would move it would go in eyes. any1 that has long hair like this help me tell my parents no rude comments i am showing to mom. and advice to keep hair out of eyes if she says yes :cool:

How about you compromise? Maybe not down to your chin, but maybe you can grow your hair out so it's a little shaggier. Chin-length hair can be pushed back behind your ears, but it will be hard to do that while it's growing out.

Also, ask about you being a "punk". What does that mean to her? Why is she so reluctant for you to look like one? Understand her concerns, and explain your reasoning for wanting this hairstyle. Don't be accusatory ("Jeez, what's your problem? So what if I look like a punk?"), but try to hear her out.

In her defense, growing out just the bangs while the rest is short is definitely a "punk" or "scene" sort of style. It doesn't make you part of those labels, but that's what it's associated with. It's probably the association that's bothering her, because of some prejudice against that sort of style. I had a similar issue with my parents when I wanted to dye my hair. They were ok with some streaks, but when I wanted to dye my entire head purple, they were hesitant. My dad thought I'd look like a troublemaker, didn't want that association. Eventually, after explaining that I wasn't going to change and that it didn't matter what anyone else thought about it, they let me do it. Give your mom some time. :)

i completely understand!! my parents wont let me grow out my hair.. they are REALLY closed and religious... they wont even let me grow out my hair like peter petrelli from heroes.. and thats no even rebelious!!
