Thank a post?

you how on some forums if someone says something helpful, you can click "thank" or something like that and under the post it will say soething like "These People have Thanked ____ for this Post: Callmejake, Relyh, blah blah."

can we get something like that?

I like that idea, but we already have a version of that: it's called the Rep system (stands for reputation). You can show your appreciation for someone's post by clicking the small scale in the bottom left of their post and adding to their reputation points. The more rep they have, the more recognition they have gotten from other members for their posts.

To all the others who already know about rep, this "thanking" thing seems more personal and kinder than rep to me, but it probably won't happen

Will we be getting the beta, or is it too risky?

Beta is too risky on an active forum, there's going to be a few bugs and security issues.

Yeah but a thanking system thanks the number of a posts a user gets so that it's easier to see how many helpful posts they've made. The rep system can be abused more easily. With this thanking, everyone can see who's thanked who.

I've never seen VT with a beta there not really worth VT doing I reckon

You can't reall thank someone for posting a good picture of themself, but you can rep them for posting a nice pic. However you can thank someone for giving advice in a section.

Yes as you said you could PM the user however sometimes people want to thank publicly and this is a way that they can do it.
