I don't know if anyone has ever thought about that before. Hmmmm.
Well, cutting can lead to infections and such, which can weaken your immune system further. What kind of treatment(s) are you going through currently?
Along with that, I wouldn't think that you'd want to cause any more pain than you already have, you know?
I hope that I can help, I remember when I grandmother died of cancer. It was a really difficult time for all of us, but we learn to deal.

You have to realize that if it breaks the skin, it's not safe. Hold on, my siblings are driving a submarine... idk.
Anyway, not cutting would honestly be the best answer, considering infections and other microbes getting into your system while you're going through treatment can lead to complications. Plus, if you quit through this, it gives you a stronger motivation to stop, at least in my opinion. :)
NHL?

Also, Lymphoma is cancer of the lymph nodes (hence the name), which deals directly with the immune system. Logically, you would want to stay away from things that could make you sicker if you want to stay alive.
Let's see, I've tried rubber bands (which helps if you pull the rubber band out all the way before you snap it) and ice (but I didn't really like that, too cold :() There is also a list of things you can do in one of the announcements. I believe it's called, "Read this before you post" or something like that ;).

bone marrow transplant basically knocks out your immune system for a while, so if anything gets past your first line of defense (skin), then it's in, and you are getting sick.
OMG that "read before self harm" post scared the shit out of me.

Just a reminder, please don't double post.
I would not risk it, when you are undergoing treatment it will probably heal really slowly because your body is already down. if your doctor knows that you cut you could ask him about it.

Ahhh, another Sam (cute nick, btw), from NY, no less (NYC here!).
First, I'm sorry about the cancer relapse. You don't sound too worried about it, though, which is a good thing, hopefully it means they're optimistic.
To answer your question, I don't think the cutting will interfere with the chemo, however, depending on the drugs they're using, chemo can weaken your immune system (since the drugs target cancer cells and often hit the immune cells, too). So, if you're doing something invasive (like cutting) there's an increased chance of infection. And, the chemo drugs can also interfere with the clotting process and the healing process. These aren't good things, you know.
So, I vote "NO" on your continued cutting, not only for the obvious psychological reasons, but also the poential medical complications. Sam, this might be a good time to reevaluate some of the things you're doing with your life, and make some good changes. If your oncologist and folks know about your cutting, ask them to refer you to a good psychologist for some therapy to address the underlying causes and make this go away, too.
Good luck with chemo.

This is information that i recieved from someone who had cancer.
The cutting will affect your therapy as the doses are done according to how much blood you have in your body, therefore if you cut and bleed even the slightest it will change the dose of medicine that you need etc. Therefore your doctor MUST be informed if you do cut, so that the medicine levels can be re-adjusted, because otherwise they are either too much or too little to what is meant to be in there.

I think that you should try not to while you are doing treatment because your immune system would be weaker and if your cuts got infected it wouldnt be good because your immune system wouldnt be able to fight the infection like it would if it was at its normal level. I hope you get better=) if you ever need to talk you can pm me if you want.
