I have been having some depression episodes yesterday and today. They come suddenly and last only few minutes. During those episodes I feel very down and sometimes even think about killing myself. They last always about 5-10 min to be exact and when I don´t have those episodes I´m uberhappy and I feel like I have energy to do anything. When I feel uberhappy, I have super high self-esteem and I usually look at the mirror and think "Wow, I actually look very good and I´m not so overweight."
But during those depression episodes I see myself as a ugly, overweight shithead.

Could this be bipolar or what? Those short depression episodes come suddenly and without a reason.

Sounds similar to bi-polar disease, but I'm not a professional so the best thing for you to do would be to go see your doctor and get a proffesional's opinion :)

If you ever need any help from anyone on here though we're all happy to help :)

I don't know if you've seen your doctor or anything yet, or if you're still looking for responses in here. Here's my take on things, from the perspective of someone who is bipolar:

Bipolar Disorder, even in individuals who rapid cycle, often don't include episodes lasting as short as five minutes. They can last as short as a few hours, and it's possible to cycle a few times in the same day, but a few minutes seems extreme. BPD is also more than just mood swings. It's depression AND mania, and rapid cycling involves switching between the two. Feeling uber-happy may not necessarily be mania. There's always the possibility that it's hypomania, I suppose (like a watered-down, less intense version). However, if you ALWAYS feel happy and good about yourself, except during those short bursts of depression, it isn't mania; it's just that you have a generally sunny disposition. :) This doesn't mean that nothing's wrong with you, maybe something's going on in your life to affect your mood. It can be something as simple as diet or sleep, or it could be more significant.

I don't know what these short bursts mean, but either way you should see a professional about this. Any time you have serious thoughts about suicide, it's time to seek help. The sooner you do, the sooner you can find out if there's something to be done to fix this. :)

I have the same exact symptoms. It is not bipolar. My neurologist thinks it is a seizure. I just started meds but to early to tell. Have you found out anything?
