Assisted suicide is illegal here in Wales.
I believe those who have had a long, painful and incurable illness should be allowed to die with dignity providing they're 100% sure they want to end their life.

i think it should be made legal, people being left to die who will have no quality of life should have the option of being able to die in dignity.

its illegal in america.... the biggest doctor who used to do that here in america was Dr. Kevorkian... hes in jail now

if you are in pain you should not have to sit through the pain. those that say God decides whether we live or die, can go and "rise above" on their day of acension and meet their God, but here on a rational world, we cant rule our lives on what this thing that we have no clue what/ who it is or what he/she really wants. GOD SHOULDNT DECIDE ANYTHING FOR YOU, YOU OWN YOUR SELF, NO ONE SHOULD RULE YOU, ITS CALLED FREEDOM

the thing that doctors are ment to heal and save? not true. doctors are yes supposed to heal, but they are also there to end pain. and if the only way to end the pain is death, then it should be an option. to keep people from just getting depressed and having their doctor inject them, there should be a government department devoted to it, you get paperwork, analysis, and go to a specialist to decide whether you should be allowed death. its not right to deny death

and if you do not have the ability to speak for your self, those highest in closeness to you should be allowed to decide for you. I.E. husband/wife decides spouses fate not the mother and father.

Many people try to kill themselves by holding their breath... but after they pass out... u start breathing naturaly....

I believe that euthanasia should be practised as it has the persons best interests at heart. The patient should give their consent. However, if this is not possible the courts should decide on whether they have a poor enough quality of life to warrant such final actions. Relatives shouldn't decide as their judgement could be clouded/distorted due to the emotional stress of their relatives condition or influenced by inheritences.

i think euthanasia should not be decided by the courts, but only by the person who wants to die.

I think it should be decided by the courts if the patient is in a coma or the such like. Otherwise, yeah it is upto the patient.

no i disagree. if someone is diagnosed with an illness and they know that is will make them get worse and eventually they will be left in a vegitated state, they should sign something saying they want to die if it gets to a certain state.

but i really dont think the decision of life should be left to the courts.

They are detached from the situation and not influenced by emotions or money. In certain situations they may be the only ones thinking clearly. It also eliminates the chance of euthanasia being used by people as a shield from the law if they murder a terminally ill realtive

i really dont the idea of some one else having control over someones life. people are not infallable.

your life is your life. you should have the choice to take it. when your in pain however, you arent in the right mindstate. there are to many circumstances.
