Modern day is as in the past 15, 20 years. My favorites are Mary J., Brandy, Ryan Leslie (Kanye West of R&B lol), Keri Hilson, Jazmine Sullivan, Jennifer Hudson, Fantasia, Usher, Trey Songz, Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, Pleasure P, etc.
