Heya guys+girls

so my mum was given all these books by someone when she found out that i was abused as a child!! one of them called breaking the chains of abuse!
in the book it actually talks about self harm and ways of copeing and things and one of the suggestions is to wear a rubber band around your wrist and when ever you have a flashback or feel misrable and like cutting (genrally before) you start pinging the damn thing on your wrist as a distraction tecquie and causeing you the same rush of chemicals in the brain that cutting does ill be it on the lesser side but still ! and pain which helps those who like the pain!

i thought i would share this with you guys see if it helps any of you!
i tryed it for a while it was useful upuntil the point where my friend betrayed me and i started cutting again so guys+girls give it a go it cant hurt (or maybe thats the point) what have you got to loose it doesnt scar!!

so thoughts back kk! Thank you! XX

Thank you for sharing that, I'm sure many will find this very useful. :)

The "rubber band" technique does help certain people greatly, but sadly not all. And the book you mentioned does seem very good, I might search for it myself. :D

I'm so glad to hear you found the rubber band useful, and it's obvious you have the courage to keep it up the next time you're feeling down. You can banish cutting for good if you keep this up.

Take care sweetie and continue your good work and staying strong! <3

Yeah I've heard of that technique, and success stories from it too.

Just don't ping it too hard, ey? :D

That book sounds like it'll be of good use for you and your family! The rubber band technique has really helped some people. Sadly, it didn't help me though.
