View Full Version : T-Mobile or Virgin?

So, I'm looking to get a new phone (now that I can pay the bill.)
I'm with Cricket right now, at least until my phone is shut off in the morning. I'm leaving their service because they set my bill date more than week earlier, not to mention that I've had a ridiculous amount of dropped calls and failed SMS messages. I got pissed and didn't pay the bill (although because they screwed with my bill date, I couldn't pay it, anyway.)
Anyway, I've narrowed it down to Virgin Mobile and T-Mobile. Both monthly plans would be $70 a month.
With Virgin, I'd get unlimited calling, unlimited texting, and 50mb web access. With T-Mobile, I'd get unlimited nights and weekends, unlimited texting, and 600 anytime minutes. I don't call much during the day (I use my phone to text more than anything) and while having web on my phone is nice, it's not that important.
Basically, I want to go with the one that is best out of the two, even if it means getting less in print value. I'd rather have the one that I could rely on more to not drop a call or fail to send a text message.
Also, at the moment, I don't really travel. I stay in my city almost all of the time. (I live in the United States, by the way.)
(Going with Boost Mobile is also an option, but I don't like any of their phones, so I don't intend to go with them unless I hear that their service is the best of the three.)
I know I sound like a total n00b and a complete dumbass, but I've only had a cell phone again for a month for the first time in a very long time.
I'm a little out of the loop.
If you have any input or advice, thanks.
I'd appreciate it.
:)

I currently have a Virgin phone and it's not too bad (even though i'd rather replace it with a Blackberry). The call/message thing isn't a problem, although texts sometimes get to you/the other person slowly.

I've found both networks to be pretty crap for signal. Even in well built up areas I often got no signal. Since I switched to O2 and 3 I've never had a problem with signal.
