ok, let me strighten this up for all you little kitties. Bush is a representation of a currpet administration and all out government. His administration might be lead by him, but his borad of advisers make most desisions, our congress had to say yes to his war game. thats right, it was our representitives who wanted war also, why? becuase there constituents wanted war. It was "our" falt as a people. Stop blaming one dude for all americas problemes, to change for the better, we have to do more then get a new presidnet.

Ya but he mislead our representitives. Say their were WMD'S befor th UN inspecters even got out. Then it was the hole were in their to find terrorist, and the fact opf the matter is their were no terrorist ontill we came in. So y are we really there. *points to can of gasoline*.

well thats the thing about politics these days, the good honest politician is not there because to gain such powerful and high office needs a load of money, and normal people just cant pull it out of their arses, so it is sad to say that corporations are starting to become more powerful, politically.

I mean isnt it so convenent that haliberton(witch cheny is ex vicepresident of).Gives millons of dollares to bush's campain, then only 2 years later they are given no bid contracts to rebuild iraq, inflating the price that the contracts could have been carryed out at.

kolte
January 20th, 2006, 06:23 PM
why are you all content on bush being in Iraq for oil. show me the proof that haliberton payed to bushes campain, thats illegeal for a corperation to give money like that. please

Underage_Thinker
January 21st, 2006, 04:51 PM
Ok so your telling me u don't think Haliberton is being favored. Is it just cowincedence that they seem to be geting all the contracts to rebuild iraqu. And also look at this oil prices have gone way up since we have been in their. And who dose that benefit. THE oil compeny. For example Exon is reporting recored profits.

Don't forget that Bill Clinton gave Halliburton a No-Bid contract in the war in Kosovo. When a well established corporation that is accustomed to war time operations is called upon to help in another war, I call that a good choice.

There has not been one drop of oil stolen from Iraq, and the Americans have done their best to save the oil from being burned by Iraqi radicals so that non-radial Iraqis will have the oil once they take back control of the operations.

Our choice to go to war was voted on by an ALMOST UNANIMOUS vote of congress based upon intellegence that was agreed upon by most of the civilized world. Don't forget, while we found no WMDs, we were shot at by Scud missiles in Kuwait when we first attacked Iraq in 2001. Saddam said he didn't have those missiles. Also, thousands of Kurds were found inflictied with conflagarations dealt by Saddam's Chemical and Biological weapons. We found facilities fully capable of producing these weapons. We also found several tons of enriched nulcear material in Saddam's arsenals. Is it so hard to guess that these weapons were either destroyed or moved prior to the insurgance? Saddam had plenty of time to move them.

Also, don't forget the over one million people that Saddam killed in a regeme of terror. Kurds and Shiite muslims lived in terror of him.

Don't forget that Saddam harbored Al-Quieda, and refused to turn them over.

Don't forget that we have in 4 years created a Democratic society that held it's first elections where Sunni Muslims VOTED to show their opinions, rather than used guns. It took the United States of America 13 years after declaring independance to write our Constitution. Iraq did it in 4. The people, for the most part, love America, and love what we are doing. Several American leaders, including the Democratic party's former Vice Presidential Candidate Joe Liberman, are in favor of continueing this war. It is a just war.

Anyone who keeps spouting that "Bush lied" or "We went to war for haliburton" is just a misguided liberal, who is using buzz words. These statements have been disproven YEARS ago, but libs refuse to accept that.

I could go on- but I think I've been on my soapbox long enough.

DFSG is correct, mostly. I want to add that if you think about the Bush Lied statement you'd realize it makes no sense. Sadam had chemical weapons, he'd used them, ask the Iranians. Every one from France to Egypt thought they were there. The Head of Sadam's airforce says he knows the men who flew the retrofited passenger planes to syria with the prohibited equiptment. The man's a christian, not a muslim, and has his own angle. He was fired by sadam for refusing to execute american POW's in violation of the Geneva convention which is why he is in the US selling his book, and not in Abu Grahib. So if bush had known there were no weapons, then he'd have known none would be found, and that it would seriously wreck his chances of being reelected, which it did. That he was reelected reflects that he was ernest in his belief, and many voters agreed that he had believed he did the right thing.

More so Koler is right too. Our governemtn employs almost 2 million people. at the federal level, many times many more at the local and state levels. there are 600+ members of congress with loads of staffers. Every general and admiral is confimed by the Senate, just like the secratary of state and the Director of the FBI. And our representatives are elected by about half of the 300 million people in the country. Less on off years like this one. One man is not your problem. If you get rid of him, there are plenty more to take his place. And in three years he is out of office no matter what, there is a 22nd amendment don'cha'know.

And finaly, that heading is really misleading, because I thought this thread was totally about... something else.

lol, :P I'll change that heading to something more fitting. And good points. Though I don't support bush in, well, anything he does lol, I do understand that the exectutive party is not in full control. They are kepted in cheak by the legeslative party, therefor, if the president does something, he is usually backed by congress. which means it was the representitives that you ahve the power to elect that are also at fault or to be blamed. yell at them if your gonna yell at bush.

I don't know what Americans are in Iraq for... all I know is that it's not needed. The war is over. Why are we still over there?

Your medical system had to make budget cuts to support that war. Those budget cuts were responsible for denying one of my favourite writers and friends a life-saving transplant.

He died on November 4th, 2005.

Uhm, we haven't cut back spending on ANYTHING durring this war, that's why our deficits kept going up. Infact durring the war we have introduced drug covereage for old people. In general our governemtn doesn't pay for our health care, except on medicare and medicaid (medicare for poor people like me) so there is no possible way that the war in riaq kept anyone from recieving a life saving transplant. After 9/11 the only planes allowed to fly were those fighting fires in the west and those moving life saving organs around the country. So that wasn't it either. The sorts of things that keep people from getting organ transplants are a lack of compatible doners (I think every one should be a doner) other conditions that make it unlikely they would survive with a transplant like cancer moving into other organs, or a history of untreated drug or alcohol addiction. Ability to pay isn't even considered in the case of organ transplants.

contribute to the debate with your posts, don't just give an unhelpful, offensive remark such as that. though i must agree with you, fox is by far the worst news media in america. But I don't really watch it so I don't really know. no matter what is written it will mostly be biased opionions from either a liberal or conservitive standpoint. Since I am neither, I Iike to look at things from an independent or vast coverage from different parties, thats why I watch MSNBC lol. oh yeah. anyway, I'll let you off with a warning, don't post onelines unless they help the debate in some way.

Cystic fibrosis is a birth defect that affects multiple organs. It is cruel, but not surprising that he was turned down. A lung transplant would not have solved poor allen's health problems and would have condemened another person to die in his place.

It has nothing to do with Bush. Stemcell research woudn't even be able to help some one with cyctic fibrosis (its genetic so it would even be in their stemcells). Blaming bush for all your ills is a sick fantasy world that absolves you of responsibility and does nothing to better the world. Support research into gene therapy that will someday help the other 30,000 people who are slowly dying of this terrible disease. Its like balaming the devil for everything bad that happens. You'll never make the world any better that way.

Here here turner. Well said.
This particular war isn't real good for the economy, but it doesn't seem to be hurting much. Since there have been more new jobs in the last five years then in Japan and all of europe combined, things seem to be ticking along. The economy is real big though, and its hard to get a good picture of what it is doing. Really really big. China may be growing fast but per capita it still kind of stinks. We have the biggest economy in the world. the Governator leads a state with a bigger economy then his mome country of Austria. We have less then a tenth of the worlds population but we produce half of the food calories consumed every year, and no we don't eat them all ourselves, we're fat but not that fat. Not that the president has alot of ability to make the economy go right, but he can make it go wrong. At least he used to be able to.

Nonsense Sargent Bob. If we pull out of Irag they won't atack the white house, they'll attack each other. Some of you may remember Kosovo, and few may have heard about genocide in rewanda. Bill Clinton is still being attacked for not intervening to stop the laughter of thousands of innocent women and children. If we pull out of Iraq early, the resulting civil war will involve Iran, Syria, Jordan and Turkey. Millions will die and it will be our fault for not staying to stabalize Iraq. Incedently we STILL have troops occupying Germany 70 years after the war ended.

PS:
Bush is putting America into debt faster than any other president; if he keeps doing so, we could be at risk of going into another depression, because the value of the dollar is falling. He thinks he is fighting terrorism by putting American troops in Iraq, and when they get there, no one knows what the hell is going on. He is letting Arabic countries (the ones that have hidden terrorists in them that hate America) take charge of the major oil ports in Miami, New York, and LA. How is that NOT DANGEROUS?!

congress is putting us in debt, the president doesnt controll a little guage that gives us money and puts us in debt, congress passes the budget cuts and the budget ups. the value of the dollar as remained rather constant for quite a while. the white house is placing troops in iraq because thats where a large percentage of terrorists have inslaved an intire nation of people, we are freeing an inslaved people, have a heart, stop just thinking about yourself. Hes letting a company BASED in Dubai, an ally city of the UAE buy 21 ports around the world, including 6 major ports in america. That is an american freedom, and to say no is a violation of the constitution. and its not just him, its his administration and congress. The executive office is cheaked constantly by the legislative branch, if you want to make a diference, stop yelling at your president and write your local congressman. lord.

Bush is the LEADER, a lot of the stuff that the congress does is in favor of bush. The congress is mostly republican. Bush is republican. There are a lot of terrorists, but a lot of them are in places like Iraq, Saudi Arabia, etc. If the oil ports are given to them, what makes you think we'll be so safe?????
