I have a girlfriend who i truly love with all my heart. Its been a little over a year we've been seeing eachother Iv'e been beating myself latley and getting depressed. I'm the type of person she shouldnt be with at all. She can do so much better than me and she derserves better than me. I really think i shpuld break up with her so she could do better, but i love her. I know im being selfish for holding onto her when she could be happier with someone else. She says she loves me, but im worried it might just be pity. What should i do?

if she says that she loves you, you need to take that at face value. if you are depressed its only natural to find the negative aspects of yourself, but why would she say she loves you and still stay with you if she didn't? pity love doesn't exist, you either feel it or you don't and if she says she does, then you have to believe what she says. breaking up with her just to prove a point to yourself will hurt her and only cause you to think of yourself more negatively. no good will come from it. right now i think you should enjoy your relationship and try and put these negative thoughts away, because they will only wear you down more and more to the point where the depression will takeover all your thoughts and emotions.

Think about this, there is a reason you love her. You don't just fall in love with anyone. Don't belittle yourself, every person has unique talents and yada yada yada you have heard all that stuff before and as true as it is think about this: you may think you are worthless now, but think how many talents you could develop, or talents that you could stumble upon that you never knew you had. In the near future, she could easily be not good enough for you in someone elses eye. Just think, if you love her, stay with her, if she loves you, stay with her, leave it at that. Here is a quote that I read once that may help you out.
"Pity is one of the most noble emotions, self-pity is easily the most ignoble emotions."

i think that your not thinking about it rationaly. i think that if you love her and that she loves you and sticks with you and is that good to you than thats alls that matters. i think that two are obviusly in love with each other and perfect for each other if you have been together that long.
