Well i think the meaning of life is, Too enjoy it while you can, but also be successful and to try too be the best person you can be and just enjoy yourself. Also i think that you should try your hardest at whatever you do and do as much as you can before you die. You only live so long.

This is like a joke in my philosophy book.

A young man hears that a guru that lived on top of the mountain had the answer to everything. This young man, an avid seeker of knowledge, makes the journey up the mountain, many a day spent climbing to the top. Exhausted, he finally reaches the guru and asks what the meaning of life is. The guru replies, "The meaning of life is a teacup.". "Why a teacup!?" shouts the young man. The guru responds, "Well, then maybe it isn't a teacup."

In short. There is no set meaning to life. You make your own meaning.

I've always believed the meaning to life is subjective, not objective. It's different for everyone and people have the power to change it is they so choose.

If someone randomly approached me, I would be less likely to randomly debate with them, unless I was bored enough or they weren't acting very unusual.

The meaning of life is 100% subjective, it differs for everyone, as each person's life experiences are different, our goals, our aspirations are different. There may be a common theme of success, but then this in turn needs defining, what is success? What is happiness, etc...?

To me, my goal in life is a rather simple one: set goals for myself and achieve them. I intend to make a fair amount of money, go into neuroscience, forensic psychology or medicine and make new goals from there.

I agree with both. There is no "meaning" to life. You do what you want, so you can be as happy as possible.

Plato and a platypus walk into a bar right? Love that book. anyways the meaning of life IS on one level to reproduce and on another to further our goals. you can look at it from many different ways

There is no meaning, unless you make your own.
I've thought of it a few times, and to me, the meaning of life is living in itself.

Probably because you're in Texas, dum-dum.

Anyway, I think that life has no meaning. You can set goals, but those are just average, human goals, so they don't generate any sort of ulterior purpose to existence.

Wouldn't life's purpose then be to fulfill the average human goals we set forth for ourselves?

Well, this is the case for every other organism on the planet, so I think we can assume that this is nature's purpose for us as well - simply to continue the circle of life. This is shown by the human being's urge to have (and enjoy) sex, something which ensures the natural continuation of our species.

Obviously people try to search for a meaning greater and more significant than simply being another rung on the ladder of life, some purpose which they alone as a species and as an individual are capable of fulfilling.

This meaning to me is to live the most enjoyable life I can and be a person of good values and ethics as defined by myself.
As a few other people have said, the purpose or meaning of life is subjective and differs from person to person, I don't believe it is a predefined deed or choice.

Well, I think the meaning in life is to reproduce to carry on the next generation and also tolive life to it's fullest. Now don't go out and party and all that, don't do something that's fun and stupid. Just do things that will benefit you in the long run and try to lead a happy, successful life with your family.

Here's a thought. I just realized my little smiley face guy below my name looks like a blue Asian! Awesome.

What is this?

Hmm, I think I'm going to answer with something like this "Life is just about dreaming something, and make that dream comes true..". 'coz, that's what we do, right?

Good question but really, who would randomly ask you that? Except the Johovas of course, they do that alot at my house.

But I would say "Live life, get paid and get laid!"

Sorry, joking aside I would have to go with: reproduce and educate the young.

The meaning of life is to reproduce and survive pretty much.

But I'd say that it's deeper than that. The meaning of life is to learn about your surrounding as much as you can and pass it on to the next generation so they can learn and advance their civilization little by little.
