In light of Miss California slamming gay marriage, Britney Spears and Miley Cyrus have stepped forth to declare that they support gay rights.

"Love is love!" Spears, 27, said on her Twitter page Tuesday. "People should be able to do whatever makes them happy!"

Cyrus, 16, also Twittered to blogger Perez Hilton (who famously asked Miss California Carrie Prejean the controversial question during Sunday's Miss USA competition) after he informed the teen queen of the
high suicide rates among gay and lesbian youth.

I'm all for gay marriage and gay rights and all, but why do celebrities put themselves in the middle? This is the thing I hate. Celebs just want attention, so they''ll just say that they support something and everyone is on top of it.

I don't have a low opinion of Spears anymore. She seems to have changed for the better. I do however, have a low opinion of Miley. Making her seem like the ideal Christian is bullshit if you ask me. A good Christian always takes half nude pictures and gets in fights with other bands over some stupid reason. Yeah, you're a great Christian Miley.

I take an extreme dislike to both of them. So I don't give a shit about their views and opinions, even if I do agree with what they're saying here.
