yesterday i got to have the day out of hospital!!
and my boyfriend matt has this whole romantic day planned...
it was so nicee...
and then came night time and it was beautiful...
roses on the bed and everything.
it was seriously like what you see on t.v.

and then the unthinkable happened.
matt asked me to marry him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

i still can't believe it.
i am so happpy!!!!!!

but then this is what annoys me.
i tell my best friends thinking that he would be happy for me.
but he isn't.
he thinks it's a horrible decision.
he hates matt.
he says that i am making a horrible decision.
(he hates matt because of the hitting)

but it annoys me, because ryan (my best friend) is seriously me everything!!
and his opinion mean a lot to me.
and i want him to be happy for me...
but he's not.

and now he's made me go from being really happy.. to second guessing....

wait... If Matt hits you... then you're making a bad decision... If you haven't noticed, hitting is not part of a healthy relationship... I think that maybe you need to listen to Ryan, he probably just cares about you a lot. That's why he's telling you it's a bad idea, I'm sure that if Matt didn't hit you and Ryan still didn't like him, he'd probably be happy for you.

your boyfriend, or fiance now, has a history of hitting you. the fact you seem to think this is ok and somehow think you are to blame makes me not suprised in the slightest that your best friend isn't exactly happy for you. as a friend its hard to be happy for a friend if they are putting themselves in a situation where they have been hurt before and there is a chance they could be hurt again. if it was my best friend, i would be doing my best to talk them out of it. so to answer your question, perhaps in time he might be happy for you, but i imagine your wellfare is the prime of his concerns right now. anyways, congrats on your engagement, i hope all goes well.
