I don't think so it might of just been him making a judgement call. He might belive you to be too young for sex and that's why he didn't let you buy them.

although laws are different from state to state and country to country so idk really sorry dude

Thats tough, it must have taken some courage for you to do that for the first time and I guess you feel really knocked back. I don't think there's any age limit here in the uk, but no idea what the law would be in Texas. Do you have vending machines in the washrooms anywhere, that could be the way forward for you.

i am pretty sure that both things that you have mentioned would be or should be illegal. The first, the fact that he didn't let you buy them, is just wrong. Even if you were going to use them for sex, it is none of his business, there is no law stopping you from buying them.

and no, he cannot tell your mom, or anyone else, that too would be illegal...i am pretty sure...unless the police need him to give a testimony or something, he cannot say anything to anyone, unless you say he can.

Wow, that is terrible, i agree that it was a judgment call, but you could go to the station when someone else is working, and try it then... but if you feel like you dont want to do this, you can go to a supermarket, and go into self checkout.

If you are close to your dad, see if he will get you one just tell him, "I are going to keep it in my wallet just in case I ever need it"

Texas, huh? Didn't your Governor Perry there just incite a crowd to consider succedding from the Union?

I don't know the law in Texas, but everywhere else I know of condom sales are legal at any age. I suspect your store manager might have been at Mr. Perry's rally, and felt entitled to impose his sense of things on you. Stuff like that is contagious, esp. when people in authority do it. But I'm rambling.....

I'd call up a planned parenthood and ask them if it's legal to buy condoms at your age, it's always good to know this, anyhow. Then, while youre on the phone, you could find out where the PP is and go down there and pick some up. Or not, at least you know the law and what your rights are.

Are you close to a uncle or your mom someone that would get them for you? Talk to a older guy at school or go to a high school and bribe one of them to get you one that worked for me.

Umm, I am not sure of the Texas state laws but I am going to guess that he couldn't refuse you. Either its a store policy (they can refuse you service but its shouldnt be because of age) or its a law or he is just stuck on 1950's values.

I would suggest going to another gas station.
Also, I wouldn't sweat about him telling your mother. That would be awkward and I doubt the guy has the balls to do that :P

I'm not sure about Texan laws, but I'm pretty sure what he did was not alright.
You can either contact the appropriate authorities, contact the owner of the store, or simply go to another place to buy them.

Yes; there are far too many sexists. It's wrong and is no different to being racist, homophobic or discriminating against handicapped people, discriminate against people with certain religions or lack of religion, ecetera. :zap: If you know that there's no law against buying condoms at your age, you could speak with his boss or something. What he did was unacceptable!
