I think i might have mono...

Two nights ago, my friend and i were playing xbox at my house, and ended up experimenting. Well i gave him head, and i think i might have gotten mono. He had mono awhile ago, dosent have any more symptoms, but is still on the medicine for it. Is there any possible way that i got mono? I feel very tired and sick today ...=[

I'm not exactly sure about this, and i don't have the time to pull out one of my books on this, but I'm pretty sure that you cannot contract mono sexually, it isn't sexually transmitted.

Also, depending on how long he's been on the antibiotics, he might not be contagious the 'typical' way mono is spread.

However, if he was infected with herpes, you could have contracted that.

If you were kissing it's possible that you may have gotten mono that way because mono is most commonly transmitted through saliva (that's why they call it the kissing disease!). It's not super contagious, so even if you were living with this kid you might never catch it, but it can be spread through something small like sharing a drink, or using their chapstick.

The virus that causes mono lives in your nose and throat, and will be found in saliva and mucus. Even someone who doesn't show symptoms anymore, but who did have it, can still potentially spread it, but you can't get it through sex. Also, mono usually takes a few weeks to show symptoms once you come into contact with it. If you did get mono from your friend, chances are that you contracted it a while ago and already had it when all that sexual activity occurred.

I say you should give it a whole before jumping to conclusions. Maybe you just have allergies, or you're fighting off a run-of-the-mill cold. If it really is mono, the symptoms will linger for a while. If you see no improvement in about a week, see your doctor to make sure nothing's up. For now, just make sure you're getting enough sleep and give your symptoms some time to fade.

Well we werent kissing or anything, and neither of us has herpes... so i think that i will be ok with the mono thing.
