Girls, I need your help

My best friend (its a girl) is acting kinda funny lately. She is sensitive and shy around me all of a sudden. We have been like peas and carrots since the 4th grade and now we are in 8th grade. I think she might have started her period or something but I wouldn't know. She is also rele open with me while Being shy as weird as that sounds. I'm so confused. Please help!

Us girls are weird creatures... And using periods as an excuse pisses us off (or at least me).

Maybe she's realised that you two aren't kids anymore and that your bodies are developing differently. She probably doesn't feel as comfortable around you anymore and she could probably benefit from another girl as a friend.

You should try to talk to her and ask what's up... It could be something completely different. There are SO many things that could be causing this behaviour. But, until you chat with her, you aren't going to know.

I agree with Laura. There are too many possibilities for her to be acting like that, and the best approach is to ask her directly.

Yeah...I agree...ask her what's wrong because with us girls it could be anything.. and it's better to just straight out ask her because if you just try and guess what's wrong...that could make things worse...
