OK, I think this is the right forum
OK, well my voice is already really deep like a man's, I only had a few squeaks in getting it. Now recently (past 3 days) it sounds like I'm losing my voice, and my voice is breaking a bit. Is this odd to have your voice develop then have it start to squeak again? And is there anything I can do about it? I have to do announcements for my school of 300 students, and who knows how many staff, and I don't want to squeak doing it.

There is really nothing that i know of that you can do to stop squeaking, and i dont know about it being normal comeing back again, but if you really want to get out of talking, you could ask to get out of it?

Just make sure you practice the announcements first and try not to think about it.
Voices change and people know that. Try to make the announcements somewhat fast but what youre experiencing is purdy normal

I have had that happen even after my voice change, and it can be most annoying. Are you sure you are not getting a cold as that could be the root of your problem? Sometimes stuffed sinuses and/or a dry throat can be the root of your problem. Perhaps you should try taking a cough drop and see if that improves your situation? Just make sure your throat is not dry as that can definitely cause the problem to which you are referring.
In the worst case scenario if your voice does break while giving the annoucements, then just clear your throat and go on with your text like nothing has happened. Voice cracks even happen to professional announcers, and don't worry if that happens to you.

The squeaks usually happen at awkward moments, or when you're shouting about something. If you practise your speech, you should be fine. Everything is noooormal here. Everyone gets these squeaks sometimes - don't worry about it. :)
