Can I create my own social group?
As a registered member, you can create your own social group (providing the administrator allows this). Go to the groups page and click 'Create A New Group'. Complete the title and description for your group then select the type.
Since I cannot see anywhere on the Social Groups page where I can create a group myself, I assume I need to ask an administrator for permission to be able to create one?

No you can. If you go into the main social group pages, there should be three lines of links at the bottom somewhere, One says "Create a group".
But also, I think there may be a post limit amount, so for example you have to of had 50 posts to be able to do it.
I'm not sure though, wait till a senior informs the truth. :)

Makes sense and definitely fair enough, 50 posts would seem a fair requirement.

Well 50 posts is just an example but I think that a rule is like that on social groups.
So you'll have to give it time I guess.

You need to have been a member for at least 180 days or have 500 posts.
For a diary you only need 50 posts and have been a member for 30 days...maybe we should rethink those. The difference is pretty drastic.
Yea, but once you have met those two listed requirements, you will magically be able to see the button to make a new social group.
Hope this helped :)

Im pretty sure you need both.
When I hit 1000+ posts, I still had to wait until my six month to make a group...
Maybe it was changed though :P
