Am I the only one who has no clue what you people are talking about? What's the debate here, exactly?

Do a google search 'David Schuster teabagging'. You should find a hilarious video that will give you an idea about the topic at hand.
And if you mean that you don't know what 'teabagging' is, then it is
a)the name of a Republican tax protest inspired by the Boston Tea Party.
b)the act of placing your nutsack on a persons face/in their mouth.

It's not necessarily only republican, although republicans are more often for lower taxes.
Its basically when people march giving away tea in capital cities to protest taxes.
Its both to represent early America with the tea tax, and Boston Tea Party, and also as an acronym "Taxed Enough Already"

People are protesting excessive government spending.
They are doing this by using protest tactics similar to the Boston Tea Party which protest corporate taxes. They decided that tea is effective and that collecting and mailing tea is effective.
Little did they know (well even my teacher knew) what teabagging REALLY meant.

They shouldn't be associating their protests with the Boston Tea Party, though. The causes of the BTP and the current teabagging protests are not the same.

Wow, my friend was telling me that states were succeding from the U.S and it was called the Tea Party. Wow, is he way off. I knew that wasn't right. I kept telling him that a state cannot succed, but he didn't listen to me. But anyway, so people are mailing teabags to government officials or something to protest?

They just use it as a connection to America and it's past.
They could use something totally different, like coffee, or milk, or fish, or bikes.
They chose tea because of the acronym, Taxed Enough Already, and the connection to taxes in America's past.
I think... :P

I think you are correctomundo. However, I think they came up with the acronym after they decided they would use tea :P

They're forming false connection with history.
Boston Tea Party situation: Monarchy, unilaterally chose to tax American imports, money used for foreign colonization and the like.
TEA protests: Small-government enthusiasts(mostly Republicans) whining about taxes levied by elected officials, which are used to pay for health care, education and wars which were started by the administration that the republicans put into power.
Boo-f***ing-hoo, what are these conservatives complaining for?
And then some stupid Texans actually bring up secession! Like they're going to give us a warmongering lunatic who pushed this country deeper into debt for 8 years, and then simply secede and leave everyone else with the consequences?!

It's not supposed to be the same thing. They're just using tea to represent early America, and taxes.
They're complaining because they don't like paying the government, because conservatives generally want a smaller government with more self support.
I won't get into my opinion however... lol. I'll say I agree though, it's hard to see the other side of the story, especially when you're so opposed -.-
And we can't really blame all of Texas for George Bush... Although we can blame them somewhat for choosing a governor... erm... 'special' enough to bring up seceding from the US.

We can blame Texas. They're the stupid ones that elected him govenor which leads me to believe that Texans are similar to him.
I am just being mean (beacuse obviously its not true) but whatevs.
I agree 100 percent with Curthose's post :D

I find that offensive but in those Tea Parties, there weren't just Republicans but Democrats and independents.
So that is a stereotype.
so acctually you are an ignoramus.
