What do you want to do after you finish secondary/high school? Or for those that already have, what did you do? Also.. what have/did you consider beforehand?

Personally, I wanna continue in my school for Sixth Form (this is the plan at the moment of course) and do three A-Levels. I've picked Psychology and Sociology, but I'm unsure what third A-Level to pick. I'm thinking of doing Religious Studies, Information Technology, Biology or Law. I dunno yet.

Then after I actually finish school, I'd like to study.. something, I dunno yet, in a University. I'm quite attracted to Computer Science, at the moment, though. I'm also interested in going abroad to USA, Canada or Australia for University, too. The reasons I wanna go to uni, is because I want to make new friends, a mature girlfriend, have fun on nights out, and get a decent qualification.

As for a career, I'm not really sure. Just something that has a decent starting pay, and a good community of other workers. I don't really have any super dreams of being some Aerotechnologicalksjdlljds engineer, or a lawyer. Lol. Nor am I expecting a £50,000+ a year job with a BMW company car as soon as I walk into my first major job. Although it'd be nice. :P

In the past I've considered going in the Army and Marines (yes the UK has Marines too) as an infantryman, and also Navy as a fighter pilot, because believe it or not, you're more likely to get a slot as a fighter pilot in the Navy and see more action compared to the Air Force which is ironic. But I've trailed off the idea of joining the military, but I'm not eligible to join it anymore, anyway due to the fact I have obvious self-mutilation, which is a mental health disqualification, I think.

After I graduate high school, I want to go to college.

For what? Absolutely no idea.

What have I considered? Everything and anything. But nothing has hit me that is 'my job' yet.

I want to go to a college or university...I want to become a youth minister someday...or a writer...
I have considered counseling...or therapy as a job...I haven't really narrowed things down a whole lot yet...
I also have dreamed of being an artist since I was a little kid. I have thought of being an architect but I don't think I would be happy doing that job all the time...It's kind of just a hobby.

College for the unknown.

I'm thinking about double majoring in political science and forensic psychology though...
I know, they are pretty unrelated. :P

I have so many goals....

1. forensic psychology (I'm really surprised to see so many people with interest in that...you have to have a PhD and you get very little money for it)
2. law
3. earn a master's or doctoral in musical performance
4. (this is more just a goal than a career) Be the Opera Ghost in The Phantom of the Opera.

I'm going to just skip university/college entirely. Too much money and too little work for a piece of paper. Especially for where I'm planning to go in.

I'm going to be a freelance website designer, mainly, though I'll have other projects going on. Namely, I'm in the process of creating a massively-multiplayer online game that I don't expect to get done soon, but will be working on for a while and probably mostly after I graduate.

So yes, I will be your typical web guru who (hopefully) will be able to employ things like HTML, PHP, CSS, SQL, Javascript, Ajax, etc. All without college!

I am out of high school (in sorts) and the only thing that I am sure of is that I want to make something of myself if I intend to continue without blowing the inner contents of my head to shit.

I have some big dreams for after highschool;

The United States Naval Acadamey, and upon graduation I will presue my childhood dream of being a fighter pilot on an aircraft carrier. After I finish my time in the Navy, I'll move on to police work. And Retierement will be fun! I'm gonna buy a BIG fishing boat and start my own charter company.

None of those are probably going to happen, but I'd love for them too!

I'll soon be in 3rd year university for neuroscience, neurology or forensic psychology (taking a course in that next year in my 3rd year so hopefully I can end up posting here a little about it). After university, I plan to get my master's then either M.D., PhD or PsyD, although not sure if it will be in neuroscience, neurology, forensic psychology or something else.

Well. A degree or something in something like Computer Science would actually help you a lot in that field, especially if you actually persue a job in website designing. But I'm sure you're confident with what you're doing, so good luck.

A degree is only a "piece of paper" if you haven't any actual experience or commitment behind it, but yeah if you have experience in what you wanna do + a degree, it's the difference between getting a certain job, or not.

Many people make the mistake of thinking they can just get some high paying job with just a degree and no experience off the bat, but most of the time they turn out to be very wrong.

After I finish school, I want to go to uni studying foreign languages (French and Spanish :D)

After that, I want to take a career in that field, either as an interpreter or maybe a teacher.. still undecided there.

 Very true... the only realistic way of somebody getting a high paying job with no degree, is for them to start their own business and become very sucessful. If you dont wanna go to college and you just wanna try without it, go for it. most likely not gonna get far, but you could always try and prove me wrong!

I plan on attending a four year (or two year depending on how I feel later) university and Major in Computer Graphics and New Media, and hopefully pursue my goal of being in the Graphic Design field. However my skills have a ways to improve before this ever happens. ;)

After I did my GCSEs I joined my school's sixth form, studied Biology, Chemistry, French and ICT. It didn't really work out for me there, plus had a load of other stuff happen, so I dropped out of that sixth form. I'm planning to go to Cambridge Regional College (CRC) in september and do a BTEC National Diploma in Health Studies. If I do well in that, which I hope I will, I plan to become a paramedic :)

Hmm. If I decide to drop out of my school's Sixth Form, I'll probably go to City College or go to another school's Sixth Form to do my A-Levels, which I've been considering all this year.

On one hand, I kind of want another environment and to meet new people/make new friends. But on the other hand, I don't exactly feel ready to leave my school, and I already know the teachers/students around here, plus my mum wants me to stay at my school. It's the same qualifications and stuff, just not the same place. So I may as well give it a shot.

Library Sciences? lol.. o.o
