i have a friend who tells me she was bored technically "retarded" but i dont see how she gets no special needs help at all and gets better grades then me can anyone explain how this works can you like grow out of it?

It depends, retarded is a loose term, could mean she has serious mental health problems that affect her education or not that serious and doesn't really affect her education.

The schools mainly look at her work see what needs improved and take it from there, she obviously isn't doing bad if shes getting no help.
