What to do?

Well lemme start with this, there is this girl I have always had a crush on (since maybe 8th grade, we are now in 11th grade) and my friend started going out with her in about the 8th grade. They have been on and off over the years and they broke up about a month ago and she said she wasn't getting back with him. Well she has always flirted with me when we hang out even when she went out with my friend (weird but who cares), but now I don't know if I should try and start like really talking to her. I was at a party texting her (she had to go home early) one of my friends asked me who I was texting but I wouldn't tell her. Then when we were in the car I told her and she was like well do you like her and I said I guess so. I really want to ask her out because almost every girl I have liked recently some guy has swooped in and ruined my chances, but I also want to wait a little bit to make sure she and my friend don't start going back out and make sure its not to soon for my friend to get pissed at me about it so if anyone has any opinions please respond
p.s. I'm not really sure why they broke up it's all pretty cloudy

well if your friend went out with her for years then its proberally not the best idea to try and get with her how ever much you want to. Unless your absalutely sure it wont come between your friendship with your friend.

if its ok, then go for it, dont be scared of her saying no. at least you'l know. But if shes been flirting with your for 3 years then its likely she will say yes:) xxxx
