I'm not sure whether this should be in the SH section, or the VT General Hospital section, so Mods please move this if it's in the wrong place.

Ever since I got some scars a good few months ago, I've been wondering about what would happen if I exposed them to sunlight. Is it bad for scars?

I've tried looking around and stuff to see what other people have said, but there's lots of mixed opinions about whether you should expose them to sunlight and what it does to them and stuff (fades them, makes them worse, etc.).

Has anyone got any solid evidence of whether they should or shouldn't be exposed? I don't want to ruin my chances of getting rid of these stupid marks ¬¬' lol

Scar tissue looks different than regular tissue b/c of it's cellular composition. However, it IS skin, and you should use the same precautions as regular skin; Wear sunscreen, and avoid overexposure, and do NOT intentionally focus sunlight on them.
