I would say I'm from Britain but here in scotland our qualifications are totally different from the rest of the uk. I just got my results back from my standard grades (gcse equivalent) and I got all 1's for:
English
Maths
Physics
Accounting and finance
Modern studies (politics and current affairs)
Graph comm (tech drawing)
French
If your wondering what a 1 is, it is the same as an A but at SG they use numbers
1-2=credit
3-4=general
5-6=foundation
7=fail
This year I'm taking:
English (hopefully changing for French)
Maths

I am taking Irish as ordinary level, because it'll probably be the lowest points-giver and will be discounted on the Leaving Cert. So I can concentrate on the other 6. Religion and the extra subjects are not exam subjects, for my school.
I want and need As in Geography,Biology and Physics. Maths can get there too, and if English and Chemistry get into the Bs, I'll be looking well for the course I want to do, which is either Theoretical Physics or Physics+Astrophysics in TCD. Which I choose is the decision I've been faced with for 2 years, I want to go for Theoretical Physics, but I'm still not sure.

Chinese, Italian or Portuguese I, haven't decided.
Next semester I'll shoot for a transfer semester in France or Italy, even if I have to take on even more debt to do it (since I live alone, I'll need to pay off my bills and apt for 4 months). I want to travel. Next year it'll be my thesis and an apprenticeship.
I'm a graduate student now. M.A. in...well, translation.
I feel really fucking old and the only reason I came back here for a bit is to feel a tad younger.
