Enough time has passed to forget the recent VT troubles. Its time to look toward the future. We will need a few mods and creation of a VT membere rules.

The new member rules draft is being developed already.

Please post your ideas here.

Thanks,

kolte

I can never say that vt will drift from my daily routine. I will stay as usual. I don't know how active I will be, but as active as allways I'm sure. Vt has really helped me, I don't ignore that. It has suffered some losses, but its still vt. I'm glad that we are trying to get over this, and I hope it doesnt hurt VT too much. After all, its helped even those who have left. you know I'm here to help if you need anything Josh. Its time to organize this site, and make it more appealing to members.

O.K. Josh, you wanted help, here it is, and god forbid you ignore this.

what vt needs:

two mods for puberty forum
two mods for TWPR
one mod for relationship forum
one mod for the debate forum
one mod for cutting
one mod for depression
one mod for drug abuse
one mod for eating disorders
four global mods
a mod conference forum
a set of mod guiedlines
a set of member rules
an FAQ for how the site runs

I think respect is one of the priorities here. Give respect, get respect as Tony Blair says. I'm talking about each member respecting other members; members respecting mods; mods respecting members; admin respecting members etc.

I think a three strike system should be to freeze a member. Another three strikes once unfrozen means a ban except in extreme circumstances.

Rather than one mod for each forum, how about a group of 3-4 to mod all the psychiatric forums. Koler's right, there needs to be rules for mods as well to prevent abusage of power.

There could also be a member ambassador, who intorduces themself to a new member, tells them what VT's about, about the people who come here, rules etc. and they could be like their guidance councellor for their first week of something. Naturally, this would have to be someone who's been here a while and experienced e.g. a 2500+ post member (not a mod, as there should be an opportunity for members to take an active role as well).

I read it and it has some good ideas. I like the repect part.

We just started a new system to log warnings so we know the person has been warned at least three times. It should help a lot.

Closure: The End

Kiros i am a genius, you just fail to see that in me.

Btw i think Koler shold be eating disorder forum mod seeing how i dont think there is anybody else here with more knowledge of eating disorders and the human body.
That is saying that isnt including me .. i know i dont want to do it and nobody else wants me to do it lolz but i do give the most advice

January 10th, 2006, 09:53 PM
i agree with atlantawonder that koler should be that mod....i think atlantawonder should be the mod of relationship forum or any other forum cause he does help a lot of people and he should be rewarded somehow lol

I don't think being a mod is a good idea. Last time I was a mod I got so many hateful pm's that I just couldnt stand it, people hated me being a mod, I don't want people to hate me. I want them to think I'm a nice guy, modship just made me seem like a dick. I don't want that.

WelshLad
January 11th, 2006, 06:23 PM
It would be a good idea to have mods from different time zones to corrospond with when members are online for SOS advice - ie when Californians are ready to go to school, Brits and the Irish are coming home from school and coming online. I know we've got a few people from Australia here as well.

I hate being a mod myself. I got away with it with VT General Hospital, as it was originally my diary, entitled, "The Witch Doctor", but then got moved and became a forum, so although I wasn't a mod, I still could control it. Keeps your moderator status hidden :)

Although, Triple 7 cut my modding powers for obvious reasons... Josh, could you lock Shaolin's last topic in the General Hospital? It's time that one gets closed.

Kiros
January 13th, 2006, 06:38 PM

Look, forgive me that I'm not in a good mood tonight - you'll see
why by my post in the Relationships forum titles "WHY IS THIS
FUCKING HAPPENING."I came on VT at this time of night because
I thought there could be some members on who could help. If not,
a mod. Why aren't they on? Because they're in a different time zone
and probably in school. This is why I suggested having some mods
from my time zone, GMT.

If there are suggestions, can we please IMPLEMENT them instead
of ignoring them. VT is going down the drain. The members and
I are all trying to suggest how we can make it better and get
ignored. I would have loved a mod to be online now to help me
but obviously it aint happening. By the time anyone in a high place
reads this, it'll be 10/11pm there and I'll be in bed. Thanks a fucking lot.

Settle down Lloyd, we have a lot going on. Before we can begin to assign new moderators, we need the official set of rules out - should be any day now. Though if no one is on, then it won't do much good having a moderator for that time zone.

Now, if you noticed, I've already started a thread in TWPR to gather everyone's timezone. This information should help out the community as a whole :)

heres what we need.

for general discussions: 5 mods. one in -8 -7 -6 -5 and GMT

for the Pysc ward: 5 mods. one in -8 -7 -6 -5 and GMT

the the G mods we have.

so lets recap.

we have about 3 mods for GD we need two more.

we have one mod for the psyc ward, we need 4 more .

and these mods need to match with GMT's
