There seem to be quite a few guys at my school who seem to really enjoy gay yiffy art and such. But other people are saying that it's wrong, and that it's 'not normal'.
Is it?
Surley, furries can just be classed along with being gay or bi or lesbian?
Btw, furries and Beastiality are different. Furries isn't actual animals, its fursuits and animal art porno.
Some of my friends at school (males) seem to be really into gay yiffy art. But oothers are saying it's wrong and 'not normal'.
Is it?
Surley furries can be classed along with gay, or bi, or lesbian.
Btw, furries and Beastiality aren't the same. Furries is fur suits and dirty art. Beastiality is doing a sheep (for instance)
In the future, please just click the "Edit Button" if you have something to add. Don't make a whole new thread. Merged.

You raise an interesting point, and my thinking is that folks who are into furries are not necessarily into bestiality. From what I understand from the following Wikipedia article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Furry_fandom#Sex_and_furry_fandom) folks who are into furries and other types of transformation fetishes are basically get a thrill from watching a person transform into another thing or get enjoyment from human hybrids.
My thinking is that liking furries is just a type of fetish not different than any other fetish out there such as people with foot fetishes, bondage fetishes, etc. As long as a person is not out there having relations with animals and only get off in a fantasy world, then I don't think there is a big problem with this type of fetish. Personally, if I were your friends I would not go around advertising their interest in this type of fetish, but each to his/her own I guess.
As for how to classify this type of fetish, it is my understanding that it is pretty equal opportunity with both straight and homosexual people being into it.

I agree. As far as I'm concerned it's just another fetish, that's not necessarily bad. As long as you don't go off into a fantasy, or have sex with real animals, there isn't a problem.
And like most fetishes it can be encountered by homo, bi, or hetero sexual people.

*Slaps* It's not a FETISH! We've said this a million times. For a lot of furries, (like me) it's a lifestyle and SO much more. It's not wrong, BTW. Also, so nobody asks, it's not based off yiffy (porn) art.

BTW, what ever you do, when searching for furry. DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT go on Encyclopedia Dramatica or 4chan. They seem to hate furs for no reason. Oh, and sorry for the slap.
Please don't double post. Just use the edit button. Thanks!

Sorry, the sexual part is what I was referring to. If your lifestyle is based on sexual furry, then it could be a problem. Your life shouldn't be based off any kind of sex really.

My lifestyle is defiantly not based on the sexual part.

Sorry again, I meant 'your' in general, not directed at you. Lol, xP
Anyways, can you clarify OP? Are you referring to lifestyle furry, or sexual furry?
Either one is fine in my book, but it'd help to know.

My furriness is not based on the sexual part of the fandom. Is that better?

I just want to say again there is generally not anything wrong with an attraction to furries as it seems pretty harmless.
I don't mean to sidetrack this thread in anyway, but what exactly do you mean by the furry lifestyle? Is there a desire for such folks to have animal-like features? I remember there was this one fellow from Oregon or Washington who has been slowly transforming himself into a tiger by implanting tiger-like teeth and getting his body tattooed like a tiger. Is such a fellow someone who would fit into the furry lifestyle? Is a person who is into furries someone who believes they are an animal stuck in a human body? It seems like that there is definitely a major non-sexual component to furries as I can see the argument for the lifestyle point based upon the article to which you referred. However, would the sexual component of furries be considered a fetish?

It would not be classified as a fetish. Oh, and are you talking about Stalkingcat? He's one of those furs that took it to the extreme. He's a real rarity.

Well, that was definetly an unexpected Conversation. Apparently furries is a way of life. And quite an intreaging one at that. It could be quite interesting to get into. Out of interest, has any one ever put you down for being a furry?

Anything can be defined as art... I don't judge in the terms of others, but by my own opinions on the individual subject. Do you like the pieces? If yes, then enjoy it. If no, then don't worry about it.
