Okay. I recently spent time in juvy over graffiti, Does anyone else think graffiti is an art or is it just me!? The cop said its nothing but vandalism the judge said the same thing. I am not a "tagger" that scribbles on walls. No, I do good art. And throw cartoons in it. And i did this really cool character on the back of the school (its still there even though i got in trouble) And he is like standing there with a spray can spraypainting and i wrote DekS thats my graffiti name thing. Well i had too go too juvy for 123 days, Also i had community service and other stuff. But just wondering does anyone alse think its an art???? please respond :P

The actual spray painting is art, the vandalism not so much. Using someone elses stuff as a canvas is not really what artistry is about.
If you bought your own house and spray painted it, sure, I'd like it. Or if you just used paper... What's so much worse about that? Why go to public property to vandalize?

Overall, I like the spray painting art, but not the act.

Well. The reason Graffiti artists use "public property" is because they WANT it too be seen by alot of people. Everyone has seen mine. It was even in the newspaper thats the kinda attention graffiti artist like too there work. Thats why they do it on highway over passes and such they WANT ALOT OF PEOPLE TOO SEE. :O

So any attention is good attention?
Why not make a really nice one on paper, or canvas, then frame it and hang it up? Or send it to an art show? Instead of going to juvy, having it painted over, and having bad fame?

I can see this from both perspectives, but in my opinion, if you want lots of people to see your art, you could ask permission of the property owner or whoever is in charge of the area. If they say it's alright, then you can't get sent to juvy, and you can get the attention that you want for your artwork.

Well i cant go too the school anymore im expelled.. Also.. i cant go on the school property, but i can draw another one if you want? its just they check the cameras and stuff.. they could be lieing but i dont want a tresspassing charge too :(
