I am a gamer, but I don't have the money for a gaming PC.
My best is:
OS: Windows XP SP3
CPU - AMD Athlon x2 dual core QL-60 (1.9ghz)
GPU - ATI Radeon HD 3200 896mb
Memory - 2GB
Hard Drive - 2 70Gb Internal HDs
CD/DVD player
CD/DVD burner
17" maybe HD screen.
Also its a laptop.

At today's price my rig is under 1200 easy, probably under 1000 if you change some stuff and hunt rebates. I can run anything at max graphical settings and rez.
The OP's machine is total overkill BTW. By the time so much power will be useful you'll have better for less.
