Ok so we put the memory and cpu in about an hour ago and fired my computer up and it worked :D we went thru the BIOS and configured it and all but then we realized that we couldnt install XP without the cable to run the cdrom drive sooooo .. it WORK which is GOOD BUUUUTTT we arent gunna start putting XP on it tommorow heehee
on a more sad note, my current computer (laptop) is being stolen by my step dad to be used at work  but thats ok.. i guess
he is stealing it in about a month after we get the desktop running and i have enough time to transfer files and all

Lol. Yeah, don't blame nVidia. Blame the guy that threw a dounut inside your computer :D
So AW, why can't you install XP? Your drive should have a cable running to your motherboard...

u spent 9000 bucks on a comp? i can put 1 together and only end up spending maybe 100 bucks and i get that right back cause i work at a movie gallery and get free games i get 100 bucks back in maybe 2 or 3 paychecks so it works out buut my computers are fast man i can beat an applegate comp i know it but my mother boared fried and i need 1 and i need some more ram on my comp and i need a new monitor and my fan broke thats why mother boared over heated and boom literally i hsve lights by mother boared so i put a decent size fan there and it broke i didnt know and my mb melted literally but im gonna build this new comp with a built in fish tank but i still have some flaws i gotta work out but ill get a pic of it when im done :D

Sorry that was mean, i just had to do that for you making fun of my new word ''cracy'' :P ....
Omg so we turned on the auto alarm for if the pc overheats or if fan doesnt work and right when we did that the alarm started going of.. so annoying. Took us about 4 minutes to figure it was because of the temperature freaking out ... we are pretty sure it wasnt even 180 degrees F* (the settings we put it as) ... and the fan was working, so we just turned the alarm settings off. Oh and what should put the overclocking settings on for the 512 mb ddr ram? It was set to 200 and could be brought up to 400.

266MHz sounds like a default for FSB compatibility - though if the RAM and motherboard supports 400MHz, then go for it.
By the way, it's actually EIDE, but the first E is understood, so techs just call it IDE.

you, AW, should not overclock at all
