What you are describing is no doubt painful, but the way I overcame the problem to which you refer is by ensuring that the underwear and pants which I wear are not too tight and are somewhat loose. Make sure that when you buy pants and underwear that you compensate for erections and your genitals as underwear and pants that are too tight down there will cause your erections to be painful as it will push hard against the fabric.
