I forgot that tragedy was a claim
Of innocence in a war
That nobody won.
I forgot my security card,
I can't breach your enemy lines;
I'd like to breach your enemy arms,
But I can't seem to be there when I need to most...
I'm always forgetting something
That really means something
To somebody out there...
I forgot that tragedy was a claim
Of innocence in a war
That nobody won.
I forgot where to stand
So I keep sitting down
In the wrong damn chair,
I remain lost, unfound.
No search party
Would dare look for me;
I'm the monkey that's stuck in the tree.
Apple, apple, orange, orange
What's the difference to me?
One is ripe, one is rotten
But I don't really care.
I forgot that tragedy was a claim
Of innocence in a war
That nobody won.
I forgot that my friends
Are all comatose,
They can't think (vegetative in their state and their taste).
Its a borrowing
Of guilt from the
People I hate (most).
I can't seem to walk
The line to the heart
Of the city that's still alive
And well (and well, and well).
I forgot that tragedy was a claim
Of innocence in a war
That nobody won.
Nobody won
'Cos nobody really tried,
To survive, to survive (its impossible).
Don't succumb to the bullets
Is what I was told,
But I'm too young to die (I know cause I don't know at all...)
I'm forgetting something very important to me
How to stand, how to fall
How to glide across the sea
With both eyes open so wide that I'm asleep...
I forgot that tragedy was a claim
Of innocence in a war
That nobody won (that nobody won, that nobody won...)
Of innocence in a war
That nobody won.
