I'm 14 and in 8th grade. I started puberty a few years ago, and I've never felt like a slow developer but now I do. Everyone in my grade has hairy legs, and I've still got almost nothing. When will it start growing? When it does, will it happen quickly or will it take awhile?

Well I am 13 and have really hairy legs from mid-calf down. I really didn't notice anything until one day I looked down and it was really hairy. so it comes in fairly fast. and genetics have something to to with it. so you could take a discreet glance at your dad or just flat out ask him about when his leg hair came in. hope that helps!

Well, this is totally normal.
Body hair depends mostly upon 2 things: genetics, and development. For example, Asians usually don't have a lot of body hair, just because of genetics, while other races, such as White-Caucasian, have more than others. A real life example: I'm 13.5, and I have tons of body hair, I mean A LOT. One of my best friends is 14, appears to be near fully matured, and has barely any body hair.
Secondly, different parts of the body develop at different times during puberty, and it is almost completely random, so there's nothing to worry about. You'll probably have body hair soon, so don't worry. And besides, it's not like having hairy legs makes you look better or anything, it's just hair.

I wholeheartedly agree with this post, and the fact of the matter is that some folks just grow hair slower than others. Especially with your being in junior high the reality is that everyone is going to be different. Those boys that have hairy legs may not be tall, have deep voices, or may not even be able to ejaculate. The reality is that you cannot compare apples to oranges and that where you might lack in one area of development you could be quite developed in another place.
If this means anything, body hair is a real pain at times, and being hairless is much easier. The hairless look for guys seems to be in fashion otherwise items like body hair groomers would not be so popular. Also, many professional athletes do shave their legs, and you are not any less masculine for not having hair.
As the others have said your development will mirror that of your Father and/or older brothers, and you can ask them on when they started to get hair. It is not an odd question, and especially with your growing you need to know the facts from folks who have been down the road ahead of you. You will most likely get hair sooner rather than later, and keep in mind that puberty is a 4-5 year process.
