If this has already been posted, can an admin delete :)
make a table in some sort of software and have five collumns. First collumn have date as a title. Second collumn have a Where i was, collumn. Third have What you are thinking, Fourth Initial Anxiety or Just i want to cut. Then fith have a collumn for "How i coped" in which you can put an alternative that you done or you can put that you cut.
After a while you will slowly get a table of results and then you can look at where you cut and compare it to where you didnt cut. You could also put in an extra collumn containing the severity of how you are feeling.
This comes from my Counseller and i thought i should pass it on to you :)

Good idea, thing is my mood generally changes several times in a day, and I have alot of trouble really believing my feelings, I often doubt I am actually feeling down, which in turn makes me mad at myself, which makes me cut....

Thats a good idea :).
Not sure if it would work for me tho cos i keep a diary which i just write in often about what i've done that day, just so its summat to look bak on later in life lol and in some of it i've wrote about when i've cut and how i was feeling and stuff but now when i read back on it, i dno why but it really makes me crige and just makes me feel stupid so i think stuff like that aint really a good idea for me anymore to be honest.

See, I tried to do a journal, but that really didn't work. I like drawing, so it was sort of a mish-mash of both. Now, every time I look at the pictures, I want to cut. So, I don't draw/write in it anymore.

Yeah, when I try to write ( I utterly fail at drawing) I end up cutting myself, and putting a bloody hand print etc on the paper...
But I do find writing can really help me understand my feelings more. Which I feel really helps me deal with them in less-harmfull ways. I have also found being on the forums has really helped me alot. It a safe place where I can talk w/o worrying about being judged, or forced into therapy etc.

I can't just get rid of them. That notebook has some of my one acts and short stories in it. There's also a great drawing in which I drew a Medusa type creature and labeled it my mother. My mom and I have arguments sometimes, that's how I react to them. ;)
I still wish I was being forced into therapy. Apparently everyone in this town needs it (no duh, it's a suburb-city... stupid town doesn't even know what it is) so every counselor and therapist is booked. Plus, the one's Sam's counselor recommended are not paid by our insurance. How lovely.
