I don't think you're really describing 'paranoia' here, that's an unnatural, unrealistic, irrational fear. If you're looking at porn and masturbating while your family walks outside your (unlocked) door, I'd say your reality testing here is pretty much intact: There's alot to worry about!

What you are describing is normal, and I think a lot of us have the same feelings as you as none of us want family walking in while one is having a private moment. It can get disconcerting when one hears footsteps outside of one's room thinking that someone knows what you are doing, but the reality is that your family is just going about their normal routines. Everyone knows that teenage guys masturbate, and I seriously doubt your family would freak out that you do so. If it was really a problem with your jacking off, then you would have been interrupted long ago or been prevented from closing your door. The fact that your family leaves you alone when your door is closed is their tacit acknowledgement that you need "private" time.

Yeah i'm the same way, except i don't do it while my family is walking around through the house. Just tonight i was going crazy because of the rain on the roof. I kept thinking i heard people walking up the stairs. Of course that was pretty irrational considering it was like 1:15 in the morning and everyone's asleep. When I masterbate in the bathroom when I go in I make sure I take the seat and drop it so it sounds like I am putting it down to...well go number 2...even if no one is around I just do it, I think it "explains things." Naturally if I hear footsteps I jump like a cat and luckily have never been caught. And when I finish I always flush the toilet, even if it's empty, just do.
