How many of you found/find sex-ed (especially about puberty) useful? I didn't, because they taught us all this crap and made us scared of puberty. Like "Wet Dreams ARE Inevitable". Please only keep this about what you were taught about puberty.

I think sex-ed needs to be better, simply from looking at all the threads on this site. Either very few people on this site payed attention in sex-ed or didn't have it, because the majority of the questions I have encountered on this site are easily answered from what I learned in sex-ed.

One kid I know said that Periods happened once a year.
So obviously, sex ed needs more...instruciton and detail. Especially in the EDUCATION about what happens or waht could happen when you hav sex.

My school never had a sex ed class, and in fifth grade when i saw a puberty video... i already knew everything that was on it before i saw it. i have learned more on here about puberty than from my school.

Was very basic, ended up just finding out off people that were older than me or my friends.
It's good when your like 8-10 but after the age of 11 you really want a bit more info.
In Scotland we get basic sex ed when your about 8/9 then you get nothing till 3rd year of high school (about 14/15)

thats both nice and scary at the same time. I think the problem is, especially in the uk, that we teach the wrong things at the wrong time... for instance, they're on about teaching sex at Y10/11 (15-16yrs) but thats far to late! It needs to be done earlier, especially in places where teenage pregnancies are high. And we dont just need to teach what sex is.... we need to try to put young people off getting pregnant!
