I talked to someone, and they said I have to change my IP do something like 192.168.1.5 so that it is out of my servers DHCP range. How would I go about doing that?

WEll basicly what I have to do is try and get a website I am hosting to show on the internet, but my router is fuxxoring everything up. Forwarding port 80 doesn't work and I am running out of options. What I gave above was advise the linksys man gave me.

Also, the simpleserver says it is broadcasting out of 192.168.1.101, but of course, when someone outside the network types that in they get nothing.

All I want to do is host a website from behind a router. Anyone got advice?

It seems you're hosting for your network, not for the internet. Though to change your IP... This is one way I do it - (If you have your view in Classic mode) Go to Control Panel >> Network Connections >> right click *YOUR ADAPTER* >> Properties >> select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) >> click Properties >> use the General and Alternate Configuration tabs to. You'll need to enter your ISP's DNS, so if you have to look up your current on, follow your way back to Network Connections >> double click *YOUR ADAPTER* >> Support tab >> Details. That will give you a list of all the info you need.

Oh, and since you have a router and you're messing around with IP configurations, make sure that the last digit of your default gateway is 1. That will give you a higher speed on look ups and transfers. Actually, if you don't have a router, it will still help, but not as much.
