Do crack open a history book some time, will you? When the early Christians invaded Europe, they adapted many of the pagan holidays (As Europe was predominantly pagan at the time) to fit their own beliefs. Christmas was originally a drinking festival to celebrate fertility.

Actually most animals are bisexual, they can barely even tell the difference between mounting a male and mounting a female. It happens all the time. I saw it daily with my dogs, when I had 3.
And extensive research and studies point towards gay being a natural born thing... How can you think that you saying is right? Have you don any research?

I'm only refuting things on a factual basis. Christmas was stolen from the Pagans, "Under God" was only added to money in the 1950s, homosexuality is not a choice and does occur in animals.

It was less a reference to your individual post and more a statement on how the athiests 'round these parts react (CanadianGuy's swearing and srs business capital letters, for example) Most of them are only anti-Christianity and have little to say about theism in general. The anti-Christian feeling leads me to believe that the athiests are led by personal anger (such as this fine gentleman weredemon is) which essentially makes them just as narrow-minded.

If it weren't for the last line about Jesus and Christmas, I think he would be attacked a lot less harshly.

It should be based how much you love that person, regardless of whether they're male or female. And just like Nick said, animals probably won't be able to tell the difference between humping on another animal of the same sex or different sex. I know my dog humps other dogs of the same sex.

Well then, let me say that I am an logically-fulfilled atheist and my beliefs do not come out of an appeal to emotion, but from critically examining my previous (Christian) beliefs. If you wanted me to clarify, then I'll say it; I find Christianity and ALL of the Abrahamic religions to be harmful. Yes, I denounce ALL religion, equally. I just happen to have to speak out against Christianity so often since... oh nearly 80% of the USA happens to be Christian! Radical Islam is much more self-evidently harmful, yet since Christianity is so commonplace in North America people don't realize that its no better.

If having a personal philosophy of trying to believe as many TRUE things and as few FALSE things as possible is narrow-minded, then I guess I am. I'm not concerned with whether or not a belief in God makes you "feel good" or gives you solace if a loved one has died, even though that may be comforting to (for example) imagine that they are in Heaven... that STILL doesn't make it TRUE.
