It acts as a lubricant.

It's okay to use it in masturbation but not for anal sex or any other kind of sex. You should use a water-based lube for that.

Yeah, for anal sex shouldn't be used. (I don't recommend it at least). But for regular mastrubation yeah it's ok. It's a little messy and try not to get it in the hole of your penis. I won't go into detail all the ways you can use it because it is forbidden.

its totally save to use vaseline. it's not the best lube though. i prefer KY liquid.

It's fine, just don't use it for sex (anal included), you should use a more water based lubricant for that.
