Okay, I know I am supposed to be sleeping BUT!

When you fill out an application and it asks you what you expect to make or how much do you want to make, what should you put?
Should you put the higest thing possible. Put your state minimum wage on? Or just be honest and figure out what you need?
What are the employers looking for on there?

I usually put minimum wage because they'll pay you whatever they want anyway.

If it's an entry level position, specifically, one that a teenager that is still in high school can get, it's usually good to put minimum wage, because if you are too demanding, they'll discard your application.

"I'm thinking of a number between one and ten, can you guess it?"

John, the safest thing to put there is 'negotiable'.

Since you do not know what the 'right' answer is, you do not want to risk putting the 'wrong' amount there and be tossed aside. Better to get to the interview and wow them with your presentation and qualifications, then you can discuss money!

The goal is to get to the interview, not play a guessing game with them and potentially lose.

Well in reality you put what you want

In practice & reality you put the number that most possible ensures them not rejecting you

But yeah low or ''negotiable'' xD
