No. you don't need to loose ANY weight. You didn't mention your height, but unless you're EXTREMELY short, you're probably healthy-to-thin.

Not eating wont' work the way you want it to. It basiclaly does what youve said. Fainting in gym, being overly tired.

You'll start feeling really sick. People will tell you you're too thin but you don't beleive them.

I know there's a certain control with not eating, and sometimes it does seem like if you don't eat you don't have to cut.
But, neither one is good.
and when you loose the weight, you still won't be able to just 'stop' cutting.

I'm not sure about the 'stone' measurement, or the conversion to lbs. or kgs.

However, starving and cutting are clear indications that you should be talking with a doctor about whatever it is that's going on inside of you. They can help you better understand your feelings and these urges, as well as giving you the tools to manage them better than you now are. Also, they can work with you around a proper diet, so you don't have to resort to such extremes.

Go back to that teacher who lectured you, or your guidance counselor, or your folks, and tell them what you've been doing and that you need to talk with a doctor, let them help you get to one.

btw muscle weighs more than fat so that scale might not be showing your fat but your muscles.
and not eating is not healthy i strongly advise you dont do this again. just eat healthy nad exercise is the best advice.

I really doubt your friends are *so* much thinner for you.
Sometimes it's hard to see.

If you think you need to lose weight, go to your doctor.

DON'T stop eating. This leads to anorexia in the long-term, and when/if you start eating again, you'll put on even more weight because your metabolism slows down when your body goes into what's known as "starvation mode" meaning it burns fat at a slower rate.

If you want to lose weight you should try to cut down on the amount of calories you consume, drink LOTS of water (around 8 pints a day) because around 5-10% of your body fat is stored water, and if you drink a lot of water, you're telling your body you don't need this excess water, so it gets rid of it. Eat five fruit and/or vegetables a day, also.

Lets not forget exersize, as you've heard millions of times in the past I'm sure. You don't have to go to the gym, just do something physically active for around one hour+ every day, this also has the added benefit of making you feel better. :) If you really need help with a dieting plan though, just go ask your doctor.

Best of luck!

That's actually not true.
I lost about 40 pounds in a month or two, and I didn't gain it back on despite me eating.

It is true.
Did you research before contradicting me, or just used yourself as an example - because if what you're saying is true, then you're a unique case as you must have great metabolism or you never actually stopped eating.

On the side note, though. People think that the population in rich countries are getting more obese due to more consumption of junk food, but I personally think it's people's habits that have gone wrong. I.E. Skipping meals/eating between meals, which people do because of their work/school/college/university + social lifestyles.

I heavily restricted, purged what I ate, and starved some days.

I do not lie.
Never ever accuse me of lying about anorexia or bulimia.
I was quite fat, and I lost it all within a month or two, it stayed off. It's been about 2-3 years since that weight loss. I'm just stating it can be kept off. And I'm not actually a unique case - I know plenty like me who have lost a lot drastically and kept it off when they ate again.

Rare case, then. Whatever.
However, in most cases and of course in scientific theory - you pack the pounds back on very quickly when you start eating again, because your metabolism slows down so it can be ready to store the next set of bodyfat.

I'm not just talking about anorexia, but people who skip meals, then eat again, as well.

I, too, have heard of those cases where people keep the weight off, but strangely enough it's because of how they starting eating again - they didn't exactly go back to how they were before they got anorexic.

Also. You purged what you ate - which is bullaemia, which is very different to anorexia. You still technically ate, but you never starved yourself. You just got rid of what you ate before digestion. That's actually a very different thing, because your metabolism (if I'm not mistaken) actually speeds up when you purge yourself, I don't know why. That's almost the opposite thing.

Actually, I'm diagnosed both bulimia and anorexia. It is not imposible to have both, so now, now, don't be so closed minded.

Gosh this forum has a lot of trouble being wrong, doesn't it?

And learn to spell. B..u...l...i...m...i...a.

I was diagnosed with bulimia years ago, then anorexia after. I am fighting back against bulimia but am relapsing into anorexia and struggle tremedously with it. So, don't go diagnosing me darling, you are not a professional.

Oh wow, did they suffer from an eating disorder? People do lose weight with eating disorders and keep it off. Actually, even when anorexics start eating again, some even loose more weight because the metabolism is kick started. I think I know enough about this, thank you very much.

I am not a rare case either. I go to forums with people who suffer from eating disorders and I've heard stories similar to mine.

Please don't argue. If you have problems with another member, take it up via PM.

Seeing how Hollie pretty much made a decision a little over aa month ago, I'm locking. Do not bring this argument into another thread either, guys.
