Hi mate, whenever you start to feel the bad mood come on just try and remain happy think 'man i'm i'm in a bad mood, but i'm going to not let it affect me'. i know it sounds kinda dumb but i was very moody as a teenager and i found if i kept thinking that in my head, i didn't become so moody. also sometimes when your moody for a reason sometimes its easy to dwell on it, the trick is not to think on it (unless it's something major) as the more you think about it, the more irritated and moody you'll be.

Hi.
Well i always find that if you're with people the mood is harder to control because you get embarrassed. Find a way of going to somewhere where there's not many people, then count to 10 slowly and think of something that makes you happy, something that is good about life. Then when you're ready make sure you look presentable and go back into where you came from.
This is easy at home, but at school its a bit harder. Try to see if you can go to the toilet when you feel a mood coming on.

ok, i get mood swings like that too, like being completely happy, and then being excessively sad. The only way to make myself happy is think about whatever it is that makes me happy, and it that does not work. Another thing that i do, is that i try to make things to look forward too. But if you start a conversation with someone, it is also a way to get your mind off things.
Hope this helps =]

Mood swings really suck, and all of the advice posted above are great things, and you should follow them. The only thing I would add is just make sure you have someone who is responsible with whom you can talk and vent. This is a time of life when the last thing you need to do is wall yourself off or keep your feelings inside. It is important that you vocalize your feelings in a productive way to your parents, older siblings, relative, or even a trusted teacher or school counselor. Feeling alone can make mood swings even worse which is why you need to ensure you have a good emotional support structure.
This trick may sound silly, but you should carry around with you a tennis ball. When you are feeling really mad, sad, or frustrated, then squeeze on the tennis ball and use it as a stress reliever. Also, when you are feeling bad, then do something productive like go for a walk, run, or do something around the house to get your mind off of things. Sometimes vacumming a room, for example, is all it takes to clear you mind.
We have all been down your road, and once the hormones level off you will be all right. Just make sure you are tight with your family as they are critical during this time.
