So how many of you used to be in the scouts? They are now looking for people over 16 to become volunteers. This kind of experience looks great on your CV and helps you to gain good leadership skills and try out new activities. If your interested, visit the website at -Please don't Advertise-

I don't understand why I would want to volunteer for scouting, and what this thread has to do with anything. Is this just advertising, or is it going somewhere?

I used to be in the scouts, but I began to realize it was only for Christians and did not allow gays to join. I couldn't stand the discrimination and dropped out.

I'll keep this open as it's a valid question.
Please don't advertise however.

I used to be in the scouts, but quit when the responsibility of the whole pack was being placed on my father unknowningly. Simply no one had that much time to dedicate.

I was in Scouting too, except I'm not gay but an atheist. I realized there was no way I was gonna pass the Eagle Board trying to lie about my reverence. I quit and got a job instead.

Scouting is NOT only for christians, but there is a rule about gays. As I am almost an Eagle Scout, I know that many people drop out because "it's not cool" and other retarded answers. I know many people who were turned down for jobs/colleges because "they did not display leadership qualities", and scouting could have turned that around. My Troop is one of the largest in my area, with over 60 active members, and the leadership responsibility's are not only put on a single person, but everybody joined in to help. and it does not take "That much time", just meetings and campouts.

I'm sorry that you had to drop scouts, but the troop you were with wasn't like most;
