I like good ol' fashion westerns, which is a big reasons why I avoided this movie.

This is a seriously good film.

I hate that people criticise it, especially when the acting is incredible!

Many people haven't bothered to watch it because they are ignorant... The amount of comments I've heard that are like "Ew. Ain't it about gays?"... GRR! It makes me want to scream.

A friend of mine made a comment refferring to it and I was like "Have you even seen it?" the reply was no of course, with "but it's about gay bum-sex" added to the end.

I felt like slapping her. Seriously, it's a very touching story and yes, I cried :cry2:

Enojy watching it, it's on my reccomend list.

I think it was made during Bush's second term. I believe it was made in 2005 or 2006. Not sure.

I've seen it. I couldn't get through the make out scene. Sure, it was touching and all, but I just couldn't get THAT into it. Pretty good movie though. One of Heath's best!

I watched it and thought it was crap. If that had have been the story of a man and woman it would have been a direct to video release. But there was a gay sex scene, shock horror, and suddenly it's winning oscars.

There was some good acting, some really nice scenes, but the story was shite and it dragged on for too long.

2/5

I liked it and found it quite touching. It's not the type of film that you watch over and over again, but still worth seeing once.

Now I have already given my opinion on this film but you are basing your dislike of it on the content not being "appropriate"? With your justification being "But I'm straight..".

Two words, grow up.

*I do agree that it drags on a bit. But it was still worth it :)

they dont need to make a movie with this much content

...Did I miss some scenes or something? The content wasn't that bad or detailed.. Unless I fell asleep? What did I miss :(

It's not like it was EXTREMELY DETAILED. It's not like they actually showed a hardcore gay sex scene. Be glad for that, or it would be a porno movie.

I agree with Alex. You can't dislike a film because if it's content. The content isn't even the main part of the movie you need to focus on. Plus, adding the "But I'm straight.." would be a bit offensive to some people. Grow up.

If you don't pay attention to the content of a film then what is the point?
If you don't pay attention to it then you're just observing a bunch of actors on a screen with some special effects thrown in there. You lose any plot that's in the film.

It is perfectly normal to not like a film because of its content. Some don't like films with lots of blood and guts and therefore will dislike films that have a high level of gore. Some people don't like scary films and will dislike any films that follow the horror genre. The list goes on.

What he said can be deemed as offensive to homosexuals. But, he isn't saying that being gay is wrong. Just that he doesn't necessarily want to watch a film about gay love.

Ending was, well typical in these types of movies. The movie overall was 2 or 3 out of five.

Acting was pretty good, but as the others said the story line dragged. But still a good movie to see.
