Actually its very dangerous if you use anything too small. When he says "not too big" he should probably say "not too thick", anything with too much girth will be uncomfortable. But dont use anything too short otherwise there's a danger of losing the end and the whole thing getting stuck inside you. That would be a very serious hospital trip - and yes it does happen!!

OK, the anus is not a self-cleaning organ. 25% of your waste is bacteria, and any waste entering a rip in your anus will get it infected. Also, if an object is thin enough then it will be able to come out, even if you can't pull it out...when you have a bowl movement it will push it out. However, if it's too think then it will get stuck. And when people mention not to use something too big most people will know what they mean.
