i am 13 and 5 foot 3 inches is this small, average etc....?!?

It's a little over the average, if you are caucasian, but it differes depending on your ethnicity.

Your height is also affected by genetics, so though there may be some fluctuation, if you look at your parents you will generally be in their range of height.

No matter where you end up, though, be proud of who you are! It's something you can't change, but you can make the best of it, and make it part of your uniqueness. ^_^

You sound average enough to me. Don't worry about where your height compares to other guys. Males keep growing into their early twenties, so you have at least another growth spurt or two before you're done. You can't change it anyways, so you may as well learn to like yourself. :)

most off my class mates that are male are taller than me thought :(

I would actually say that 5'3" is an average height for a 13 year old, maybe a bit smaller than most. But at 13, it's such a annoying age with massive differences in people.
You'll find that people who are small now, may suddenly shoot up and be taller than a lot of people, and vice versa.
So it's no big problem, you'll grow, along with everyone else in your year. So I shouldn't worry about it. I was small as well, now I'm one of the tallest. :)

Are you young for your grade? Because i am, and i am about the size of everyone in the grade under me. But you will have a growth spurt eventually, so all you can do is wait for it, and then you will be the same size as people in your grade =]

Don't worry 13 y/o are all over the place with height. In my grade I know someone who's 6'1, and someone who's 4'11. And I'm 5'7. Average is around your height since people do say I'm tallish. But don't worry you'll grow. you still have like 7 years left.

Actually, for 13 year olds 5'3" is on or around the 60th percentile for UK, meaning it is just over average. It does depend, but overall there's nothing small about it.

Not the 13 year olds I know. 5 foot 3 is too small personally. Most are tiny yes. But not over average.
That's rubbish, I'm sorry Rex I don't know where you got those stats from, but statistics can always be turned a different way.

also i have to say people who are tall usualy stop getting big groth spurts cause when i was 12 i was 5'4 and taller than lots of people but now im 5'6 and almost 15 and yet almost everone shorter than me before is my height or taller.

I'm 15 and I'm only 5'3"... lol.

The thing is, if you add three inches to that, it sounds like a pretty normal height. Yet if you look at a ruler, you'll see that 3 inches really isn't that much. In fact, it's barely anything.

Anyway, to see whether you're average for where you live, just look around at other people and see how you match up. Then you'll be able to tell, from first hand experience.
