Ok well I just read the p101 thing on crabs. My balls and the base of my penis itch every night and some times during the day I was told it was just the hair growing and it seem much worse then that. What should I do?

It's probably just the hair growing. Itchy is normal when the hair is growing.

Crabs is pubic lice- not a disease. If you had crabs you'd notice tiny white bugs crawling around in your pubic hair. If you haven't had sex, it's pretty hard to get, unless you put something that has touched someone with crabs onto your genitals.

If you do see little bugs, and you're quite sure it's pubic lice, talk to a doctor and get some shampoo that kills the lice.

I would say you'd just have to shave it all off. I don't know if the problem may still persist, but it's simplest thing to do. If you do, they'll grow an inch every 3 months, so the pubes will most likely come back unless you don't grow that much.

Shaving them all off isn't the best way to get rid of the itch, by any means... as a matter of fact, for a while the itch will just be uber-intensified. And a very itchy penis and balls, is proably not going to be the best experience of your life by any means.

So, just wait it out. It should subside in a while.

It's been a year.

If it's been that long, then you only have two options, really:

a) Wait it out, or try to find some type of product which will reduce the itch.

b) Doctor. This would be my recommended option. It'll deal with it a lot more quickly.

It's not crabs as you haven't had sex. So as Rex pointed out, you can either try and find some kind of product and see if it helps.
Also, you may have the itching (which, btw is quite normal for guys to have, but maybe not as long as you have had it) because of the hair growth as pointed out earlier, or because of poor hygine.

It's probably just the hair growth, but if you don't wash that area after exercising (which causes a lot of sweat), then it may be itchy, plus, personal hygine is a thing that should be done regulary.

But, my advice would be to do both, see if you can find some sort of shampoo or just start washing that area more, especially after exercise, and see how it turns out.
But if it still persists, then go to the doctor. They may not look at anything down there, but I expect they will, and they'll probably give you something to help it. But I doubt you will need to see one. :)

Always a bad idea to self diagnose.

Pubic lice are sexually transmitted, or if you share the bed with someone with them. You can only get them from some kind of contact with an infected person. You'd see them, they're small, black dots, if you comb your hair, they'd be in the comb.

Any part of your body can itch, that's normal, but if it's really intense, then it's something. Chances are, it's along the lines of a fungal infection or maybe an allergy or sensitivity to something, maybe the soap you use, or the laundry detergent.

Fungals are immediately identifiable not only b/c of the itch, but the smell, which is rather pungent and putrid. There's also redness. If you've got this, tell your folks, and either get an OTC anti fungal, or see a doc A year is a long time!

Also, hair growth (unless you've shaved yourself) typically happens without any symptoms, you don't feel them growing, and they don't itch.
