Black and white photos have a aurora of silence. :yes: Which I why I love them,. :)

Those are quite nice Caitlin. I like the first one the best.

Just a suggestion to throw out there, but have you ever tried taking pictures with infrared? I don't know much about it, but the pictures taken with infrared are spectacular. Your style would fit excellently with them. Just a suggestion. ^_^

I know I can make a DIY infrared filter

But it won't me big enough to fit my Nikon, So if I do make it I will have to use my Cannon Powershot.
I may give it a try :)

I didn't feel like making another thread, but I am trying to get into portraits, because I applied for yearbook staff, I think I have room to improve in this area, but here is my first attempt.

I agree! They're so tranquil, and even though they're darkened they still are really interesting.

Anyhoo, I think they're extremely cool!
Here's a tip - b&w photography is hard to make it look as focused as color photography, so you could try "sharpening" them on photoshop :)

i love the ones when your at the river. Its something about black and white it gives a sense of sadness and emotion.
