Just wondered which console you guys thought was the best out of Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 as they seem to be the most common consoles, you can specify others if you want.

I think Xbox360 is better because it has better gaems compared to PS3, the only good game PS3 has is Ratchet and Clank, In my own opinion.

wow, the only game that PS3 doesnt have that X-box does is halo pretty much.
PS3 is better, it has more features and better graphics
Perseus
March 2nd, 2009, 05:09 PM
Actually, not really. Resistance basically copied Halo and Gears of War 2 into their own little thing.(Im talking about itd horde mode from they got from GOW2 and hwo thye have a battle rifle and a deployable cover like Halo does)
But , that is just my though on that.
They wouldn't of copied it from the Xbox 360, if it wasn't better.
And how does it have better graphics than the 360?
And another thing is, I hear that MGO is very laggy, so that means its servers aren't as good as a 360's.

well, if u have a HDMI cable for the PS3 its alot better graphics, and wat is MGO?
ive havnt had any problems with lagging,
Perseus

MGO - Metal Gear Online
My friend has a PS3 and he used to talk about how it lags a lot(Im not in any more classes with him, so I dont talk to ihm much, so It might not be laggy anymore)
Oh, and also, MAG will be super laggy, because of what will be in it. Fucking 256 peopel in one game, you got to be kidding me if you think it wont be laggy.

Both the 360 and PS3 have their differences but seeing as the 360 came out first I think more people own and prefer it.

Ps3 is obviously better, its more than double the price for no reason,
And xbox live....pfft, what a rip-off!
Also, Resistance 2, Killzone 2 > Halo Wars and GoW 2
360 Players prefer Ps3 games OVER Their own! (360) Only the real good Players and not the stuck-up Fan-Boys.

^^ Not true, xbox live is a great way to challenge other xbox players and have a totally different gaming experience.
And i love 360 games compared to PS3 (no offense)
and you're saying the PS3 is more than double the price of a 360? thats not a good thing
Perseus
March 3rd, 2009, 02:57 PM
Its more expensive because of blue-ray. And, they charge you so they can do good updates to the server and give you a better experience.

I prefer the ever expensive computer. You can make it better than the 360 and PS3 combined. MOST games come out on PC also.

- I myself am a PC gamer, mostly because I hate the traditional console controller. The only newer console I have is the Wii, only because it breaks away from the traditional controller, whereas Microsoft and Sony said "You know we should do? The same thing all over again with more Glamour!"
- As for the price argument going on, here in Canada the prices before tax are:
PS3 (40 GB): $399.99
Xbox 360 (Pro 60GB) : $299.99
Wii: $279.99

I'm not really attracted to either the Xbox 360 or the PS3. They don't bring anything new to the table, except how Sony tried to copy Nintendo's controller functionality. I'm still satisfied with my Wii - more than I have been with a friend's Xbox 360 or my neighbor's PS3.

i am with sony through and through i have owned 2 360s both died. and if you are someone that is going to buy eather one the ps3 is a far better choice just look at what they did to the original xbox after the 360 came out there was nothing the bestbuy by my house does not even have a xbox isle any more the 360 is getting old and will be outdated before too long the ps3 has bluray the 360 still uses DVD the 360 should be done in like 3 years the ps3 still has like 8 and just look at the ps2 it still has games coming out for it. im not a fan boy just one that looks the the way things were in the past and thinking about it

Did I miss the memo about them removing this stuff before release?

I like them both, but I give the Xbox the advantage. I'm not going to pay for a system that I think has horrible games for a Blue Ray Player.
However, I like the PS3 as well because it is going to have my favorite game on it within the next 3 years

An update for me has never taken more than 10 minutes. PS3 is so much better: built in BluRay, built in wireless, built in power brick, slot-loading drive, all the good original PS classics, shiny black exterior, free online, media card readers, its not made by a company known for making crappy stuff :D.

Unfortunately I haven't had the privilege of using the PS3 so I can't comment on that. I did enjoy my PS2 and PlayStation though.
As of now I really do enjoy my xbox 360.

Ps3 obviously because if you buy games made by Sony for PS3 exclusivly you bloody well see the differance (Killzone2 in mind) personally i think the graphics on 360 is balls!! i played my cousins last week and i laughed at how unbelivebly shit halo 3 and orange box looked and he had 1080i tv.
we basically have the same games anyway because the free-lance companies want more money e.g. fallout 3 on ps3 and a special metal gear solid for xbox.
Ps3 looks better and dosn't feel like a cheap plastic toy it also dosn't have a disc tray so theirs less chance of dust getting directly into the machine, it has a better cooling system.
also why does xbox keep claiming to be HD graphics all it is, is DVD upscaling!!!
I would say the only thing I like about xbox is they have a better online quality... wrong. people think it's better as it's monitered and supplied by microsoft. but no this is only used so people can bitch if they are insulted by another member, the charge is simply Microsoft money grubbing as always
And the killer, even though ps3 games are better looking and are on blu-rays... they are the exact same price as xbox game DVDs
and by the way i feel sorry for any of you guys who spent £700 upward on the HDdvd drive. why did it fail you ask? Because Blu-ray bought it out

360 is better. The only thing Sony has got on Microsoft is Blu-Ray just because it can store more data than a really CD on a disc. Xbox LIVE is overall better. My friend has told me that people on PSN cannot talk to each other unless you're in the same game. You have to buy 3rd party mics that are usb. PS3 may have better graphics on some games, but graphics don't make a game. And the price is ridiculous. I've heard Atari told Sony they'd stop making games compatible with the PS3 if they don't lower their price. Just because built in BluRay is there doesn't mean it has to be $400. I want a Ps3 just to have one, but I'm not going to pay almost $500 dollars. But I do believe PlayStations are more durable because I'm on my third 360 in 2 years.

They were made to look cartoony. The graphics are good, if you ask me. They don't look all pixalated and hurt your eyes. In my opinion it has better graphics than that bullshit game called Call of Duty 4 and Modern Warfare 2. Those games graphics are just mashed together.

well you can talk to people when not in games just to clarify that. you have a friends list you can text, mic chat. and what are you talking about mics for you can use any mic for ps3 unlike xbox that has to use the official one
and you do realise that at one point the 360 was also £300 when it was new and the ps3 £425 and it has dropped around £150 and will continue to do so. you have to remember that ps3 uses much more advanced technology. it just dosn't seem it with most games as the free-lance companies (microsoft told them) are told how good the game looks in comparison to 360 and ps3 as the 360 is majoritaly dominant because it's been out for two years longer also allowing it to become cheaper than the WII because of its maturation

The fact that I don't base anything I say on opinions and research everything before even thinking about posting a comment on said item proves that I am in fact not a genius, just somebody who understands much more than you would ever be able to comprehend.

Indeed, and in such an aimless debate there will never be a clear winner.. Those who own either console will vote for it. The PS3 is a much more capable device when it comes to hardware, however with increased power comes increased cost of game development and training to program for this hardware - Thus it is currently under-utilised, meaning the consoles are equal (as of now).
The next version of the Xbox might be able to be on par with the PS3, by then the developers will be pushing the PS3 to its limits.

That's what I mean, the PS3 will survive the "next generation", while the Xbox requires an update.
The PS3's mere processor capabilities are so underused (or misused, as was the case in Haze......) that by time the Xbox has advanced technology like the cell processor, the game developers will be fully utilising huge textures that fill Blu-Ray disks and finally harnessing the power of the PS3... The real debate will be PS3 vs Xbox3 (Who knows the name?), that's when the fun begins.
Additionally, just the storage capacity alone (not even taking on board the processor capabilities) of the game disks will be severe hindrance for the Xbox.. Remember how GTA4 was cut down because of the 360?? That game could have been even more awesome, but thanks to the 360 it had to be limited due to the still-limited space available for game data.

personally i have always hated xbox even the origional it was just too bulky and the controller was aweful and since the ps2 and xbox had basically the same games and graphics. i liked the look of ps2 and the controller fit i choose it.
then when xbox 360 came out i had already seen the capabilities of ps3 and decided to keep up the tradition... ps2= first dvd player, ps3= first bd player

Well in terms of sales, 360 is winning right now. but at the same i think, and a lot of developers have said the 360 has reached its limits, while the ps3 has a lot of unused graphics power. I don't think sony or microsoft can beat nintendo in terms of sale this generation, so its a battle for the 2nd place. and the ps3 is gonna keep improving, getting better graphics, newer technology etc, while the 360 graphics will start to look worse and worse beside the ps3, until microsoft are forced to released xbox 720 or something, for a massive price tag. sony have taken quite a few big lossed this gen, with the loss of some of the biggest franchises, like final fantasy XIII, devil may cry 4, tekken 6, but they are starting to pull themselves back, establish new core franchises, new games, new hardware etc. give it a year i think and i think the ps3 will be beating 360 in sales.(I'm not dissing the 360 id like topoint out, as i do have one, and it rocks. srsly, gears of war 2 is epic, just it doesn't beat uncharted)

I have not played the PS3, but I don't think it can compete with the Xbox 360. The Xbox is cheaper, has a better and larger online community, and has better games. Blu-ray is going to die real soon anyway; the quality isn't worth the price.

not true the new ps3 (120gb) is £220 the same as any 60gb xbox bundle. the games are more or less the same and only vary in things like halo or killzone. And if you play any ps3 exclusive game and compare it to any xbox exclusive game, you can see the true power of graphic detail in the ps3.
Also how can you say blu-ray will die soon? That's a stupid prediction like when people said how can a disk beat VHS. How could it beat VHS better quality picture, better sound and more info can be stored on it. The exact same goes with blu-ray over dvd. It's simply the step forward in movie distribution and i bet you wouldn't be saying that about the hd dvd if it was still spewing out movies or being used for games on the xbox even though it's worse than blu-ray.

I'll agree with the price about the new PS3. I'll also agree about the amount of games and how they're nearly all available for both consoles. However, I stand by Blu-Ray not being worth it. There's hardly a difference between Blu-Ray and a regular DVD, especially not worth the extra $10-20.

I'm tired with these console wars so I just choose both. Seriously they both have there ups and downs. PS3 has more exclusive game that I'm interested in (I don't really like Halo or Gears). But I have a 360, and I'm happy with it. And PS3 fanboys stop saying "OMGZ PS3 haz FREEZ 0NLIN33ZZ, but for three shitty u have to pay 60 bux a year, lol noobs" It's only like 8 bucks a month, and imo 360 has better online then PS3, so it's worth it for a better experience.
And btw the Wii is the most popular console it's sold about 50 million. 360 has 30-35 million. And PS3 has 24 million.

Before I start. I have a 360 and love it, when i get a job i will buy a used PS3 for Killzone 2 and MGS4.
Why used you ask. I want a original PS3 for the backwards compatibility and the Slim is awful.
I like the 360 better because of the backwards compatibility (somewhat) more games, great online. Yet there is no blue-ray player its no big deal new blue-ray movies are $40 to $20 and that's outrageous. In the end of this console generation the Wii will win but for real gamers (ps3 vs. 360) The 360 will win. Yes the 360 has a huge failure rate, but the games are better and some of the key things are better. The PS3 has better components inside but there is no difference at all and sometimes the PS3 copy of the game is in lower quality.
And, as of today there is a new PS3 Slim. Both the slim and the regular are now $300 (300 euros also)
The PS3 Slim looks horrendous. It looks so damn cheap ehh. I think the slim will be terrible. I had a PS2 and had to get a new one and it was a PS2 slim it had no fans (to reduce size) and it would overheat. The truth about the PS3 slim is because its smaller, some components had to be removed and the price is lower.
Now by components removed i do not mean blue-ray drive or the cell processor but some cooling components maybe gone. Which means overheating will occur like with the PS2 slims.
I have not played the PS3, but I don't think it can compete with the Xbox 360. The Xbox is cheaper, has a better and larger online community, and has better games. Blu-ray is going to die real soon anyway; the quality isn't worth the price.
Blue-ray will live not die. Blue-ray beat out the HD-DVD and blue-ray is the future of DVD's.

The 360 had a lot of potential but its maker did a great job at destroying that.
This is the link to the full version of my rant.
http://gamingrants.wordpress.com/2008/02/27/a-sad-dramatic-rrod-tale/
My comment is at the bottom of the page
I have had a 360 premium system for almost 3. It had too many problems to name; overheating, software failure, and locking up to name a few. To solve Microsoft’s issue of overheating I got an intercooler not knowing it was bad for the system. So one day my system locked up so I went over to turn it off and saw that the intercooler was 10sec from turning my 360 into a open fire Bar-B-Q directly behind our 5 day old Samsung 50" Plasma TV. Microsoft played a stupid game of voiding my warranty, including the extended warranty we got. Then they had me send it in. I got it back unfixed and with my intercooler broken in a spot that is not easy to break making it unusable. They tried to get me to send it again which was dumb cuz my warranty was already voided and I had already sent it in b4. I got a company called "360pros" to fix it. I had to get a new $100 power supply cuz part of the old one got melted during the bull s*#! incident. My 360 works great now, my dislike for Microsoft’s "trash box 360" department has become a thorough hate, and I don’t plan on giving Microsoft anymore of my money. The 360 division of Microsoft is a corrupt money hog. First u pay for the console, then a extra controller(if u want it), depending on what system u get, a hard drive, games, XBOX Live, and Microsoft points. In Microsoft’s rush to get the defective 360 out before the PS3 they gave it a VERY short warranty of 30 days. People got very angry and they had to extend it twice. During the 360s launch the company boasted about how big the 20GB hard drive was even though u can only use 13GB(the rest is for running games, not saving.) When PS3 came out with its mostly problem free system, they had much larger hard drives even as standard equip. All of the sudden Microsoft knows how to whip up a 120GB drive but still does not pass up the opportunity to get more or your money and charges $120 for it. You can get a 500GB computer hard drive for $56. Just another one of Microsoft’s RIP-OFFS!!! I’m going to happily get a PS3 when they have better games that compete with Halo and possibly dead rising. Well that’s the short version.

i was able to convert my cousin who has been pro lick the arse off microsoft and apple since he could walk, to ps3. Simply by letting him play it for 16 mins.
he has a 60gb 360 and had a crystal xbox, and now he's selling the 360 to get a ps3

I prefer the 360, like tons cause I like the games way more and the reason I kept my ps3 was to play Final fantasy and Rock band 2 but I sold it so me and my brother can get out own 360's soon. The only good games I can think of on the ps3 is rock band (even though thats on 360 also) and Final fantasy (Which is going to the 360) so yea PS3 in my opinion is total FAIL. lol
the only good thing about the ps3 is watching movies + internet but I can do both on my laptop :D

despite all the 360 slagging ive stated, its by no means a bad console. i played some halo 3 on xblv today, some good fun there, better then anything ive played online on the ps3 tbh, the co-op is fantastic. still prefer ps3 though

Ok. Just for future reference, I own a xbox 360 Elite and a 60 or 80 GB PS3 (i cant remember). So both the xbox 360 AND the ps3 have negatives about them and they both have positives. First off, yes the xbox DID break often when it first came out. But that doesnt mean they still do. Besides the did test it but the didnt put it through some of the things players do to it. Also XBLA costs money...lots of money. Now for the ps3. The ps3 has unbelieveable long and horrible updating times. It takes absolutly forever (20-90 minutes) for it to freaking update something. Something i dont care about and dont give a damn whether i have the old or new version of it. I ust want to play my game when i turn the console on. Next, how in the world do we chat online. I bought a mic that was "capable with the ps3" yet it took forever to connect the darn thing even while reading the booklet. Also the controller scheme is just messed up. In COD:WAW rather than use R2 has the trigger to shot because it looks more like a trigger than any other button they make you use R1. What is up with that?!?! Ok, now xbox "home page" is also alot easier to progress through and if you spend alittle of your money on the Elite you wont get the Red Ring of Death. You would have almost exactly the same likelyhood to break an Elite as you would a ps3. Next, everything is for xbox like controllers and mics are made by microsoft....omg one universal producer! Not 27 different companies making 27 different mics for you to try to connect through bulltooth and other crap like that. Yea, anyways thats it for now. I know im missing something but somone will probably post later on what im missing.

I agree silverfist i used to have a 60 gig but I sold it to my cousins but I wouldn't go as far to say its a bad system just that the PS2 was so successful we expected more from the PS3
